Sights & Landmarks

The Lëkursi Castle and Restaurant is a historic site that boasts impressive circular towers, breathtaking panoramic vistas, and an expansive dining area. Visitors can enjoy the stunning decor and magnificent views while savoring delicious dishes from the restaurant's menu. While touring the castle, guests can also stop by the open eatery to grab some iced coffee for around 200 lek. It's a picturesque destination that offers both cultural intrigue and culinary delights.

We walked up from Sarande and we’re very glad that we did (although a bit of a hike, so may recommend driving if with small children etc.) The views are definitely worth it and although we didn’t stop for food/drink, the restaurant also looked lovely. You can get a 360 view of Corfu/Sarande and the valleys/coast - great for photos.

This place was amazing to visit. My partner and I got a taxi from town and the driver waited for us for 40 minutes and then drove us back into town. This cost us 20€ which was a great price to us.The view is like nothing else. It's free to enter and look around, and there's a bar inside. They did food, but we only got coffees -- I had an iced latte while my partner had an iced cappucino. Had to wait a while because the machine had only just been turned on, but wasn't a problem as we just sat in the sun admiring the view. The only downside was that they only took cash and no card, and since we were visiting while on holiday in Corfu, we only had euros with us. This would have been more problematic had we bought a full meal, but luckily we only needed a small amount of cash for the coffees and they accepted euros. Deducting one star due to this as it was inconvenient. There's plenty of seating and the place was deserted except us and a couple doing a wedding photoshoot.Would strongly recommend.

Chaz J — Google review

It was supposed to be a historical place, but it is modified completely in a restaurant. However, I went there in closing time so I cannot rate the dishes and services. Anyway, my 1 star is due to the monkey left alone in a cage. In Albania, I do not know if keeping wild tropical animal is allowed

Alessia M — Google review

We went at the start of May before the season started which luckily meant that the place when we visited was quiet. The castle offers an absolutely amazing view of Saranda. Highly recommended. I would have loved to have come at sunset. The entry is free. The road up there is steep and windy so I would recommend a car.

Kay — Google review

Quiet in the winter months but it's free which is a pleasant bonus. It's a nice walk up a narrow road off the main road. Plenty of parking places if you go by car. Some lovely views from the castle and there's a lighthouse on the way up and some old bunkers.

Lewis M — Google review

Nice view over the city. At evening there is a lot of people looking sunset and it's a nice place for it.But please arrange proper cage for the monkey. It's heart breaking to see how does he/she live right now.

Juha L — Google review

Not the worth of visit if you’re visiting just the castle. Castle has now been turned into hotel. If you’re going go early in morning before 9am. So you’ll be able to get good now of the whole Sarande city and most beautiful mountain and beach view🥵🥵Hotel opens after 11, nice place to sit and drink beer with the great view though. Can also see bunkers build during Ali Pasha time

Dronographer — Google review

The restaurant was open and we ordered iced coffee to go for about 200lek while touring around the castle. It's very pretty decoration and great view

Jo — Google review

Beautiful sunset. We came off peak, so the quiet peaceful feeling is heavenly. Cool breezes yet it warms our hearts inside. Unforgettable.

Caspere — Google review

Great place to visit and have Saranda in the background with a glass of wine. Was nice to see traditional dancers and live music.Unfortunately, the prices that they charge for the food quality need to improve. Most of our pasta and risoto dishes were overcooked. The raw seafood is not that fresh. At night, the high volume of the music doesn't let you enjoy the view or have a normal conversation with your companions. The place also doesn't accept credit cards, only cash!

Gjergj T — Google review

A beautiful view of the city and the sunset is the perfect moment to visit it.If you would also do something special you can stay at the restaurant, but I personally wouldn't because of the high prices, down there like 2 minutes there is a restaurant much more convenient with good food.

Federico — Google review

The two stars is completely for the beauty of the place. However, the restaurant wasn’t operating even though it was during the working hours posted online. Service was nonexistent, actually one customer thought I was an employee because there literally wasn’t any one else in there but me… I would have loved to actually try the food. Unfortunately, they didn’t even have the chef in the restaurant.Anyhow, the restaurant itself is beautiful and the views are amazing.

Purple B — Google review

The restaurant wasn’t open when we came, but the view was amazing! Also lots of these small bunkers around, so pretty interning to see and also very good as a photo spot

Florian F — Google review

Not only a great restaurant but also an awesome opportunity to take pictures of beautiful Saranda. We enjoyed the live music event and warm atmosphere within in the castle walls.

Eliot K — Google review

Fantastic castle! The views are amazing. There is a restaurant and cafe inside. Nice grounds to walk around

Sighting S — Google review

Spectacular place at all times of day but best at sunsets. The 360 is just breathtaking from the mountain range north to the valley in the east the lagoon to the south and the sea and Corfu to the west. Its a small castle that has pretty much been turned into a restraunt. But you can also just get a drink and just enjoy the view. The main way up via road is tarmacadam most of the way, but pity there is no obvious footpath up the western side.Free entry too

Dave T — Google review

I liked the place. The view is absolutely gorgeous. The food is not bad :)

Nureddin A — Google review

Amazing spot for sunset views and a nice dinner. We were surprised with how many tables there were, it’s a big terrace! We had the Lekuresit pasta and a sea fish dish. The prices are on the higher end compared to other Albanian restaurants. The only downside is that many people stay around the castle for pictures instead of eating, but the terrain is big enough with many different beautiful spots!

Alessia D — Google review

Absolutely the best place to visit in Sarandë and it's free! The castle itself is beautiful and romantic with absolutely stunning panoramic views. It would be nice to have a little information about the castle available.

Sophie S — Google review

A narrow but asphalt road leads to the top, there are several large parking lots along the way. You can easily cross it on foot. There is a beautiful castle at the top with an even more beautiful view. I recommend every vacationer visiting Sarande to pass this facility.

Paweł — Google review

A stunning location to eat and watch the sunset over the city. When I visited it was still spring, so no one was dining outside as it was chilly. I imagine this place is bustling over the summer months! We got some tea to take out of the restaurant, the guy working was v helpful. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat.

Caoimhe F — Google review

Beautiful place to witness amazing sunsets. It has perfect view of the city overlooking ocean. The cafe is really cheap so you can buy some drinks and enjoy some amazing sunsets from this place.

Monica G — Google review

If you are in Saranda this is must see thing. Beautiful vew from the Castle. One protip : go here in early morning - you will have sun at the back, and go here in the evening after sunset (or night). Dont go after afternoon - the sun will be in front of you and you will not see much.

Beach

Outdoor Activities

Bella Vraka Beach is a small, unique beach located on the islet of Mourtemeno, accessible from Syvota via a short walk through shallow waters. The beach is known for its clear waters and connection to the small island of Mourtemeno, allowing visitors to literally walk over the shallows to reach the other side.

Excellent tiny beach that you can reach via boat or by foot crossing a water space not deep. I suggest to go in the afternoon so that you can enjoy the shadow of the islet's flora. Crystal-clear waters and beautiful surroundings.

Rahbar 6 — Google review

Also overrated (as the blue lagoon). Water quality is for 2 stars actually but the scenery is beautiful, so it takes the 3rd star. I do not understand the hype for this beach. The aerial (processed?) photos which I am often seeing about this beach, does not seem to be the reality.

undefined — Google review

It is ok beach. We wisted on cloudy day so it's definitely different from pictures found online but still nice. We came there later afternoon so water at crossing was little dipper. Water is warm .

Ana J — Google review

It is pretty fun to cross the sea to get there, otherwise the beach has pebbles, a coffee place on boat and goats visitors :) Worth a visit, but probably not for a whole day. Some walking is necessary, don’t forget your water shoes. In mid September wasn’t crowded at all.

Izabela D — Google review

Seriously, what is this place? This is Heaven !A bit cold water but crystal clear .Only (-) , Take your beverages with you.

Serta? T — Google review

An extraordinary beach that is definitely worth a visit.Water is cool enough and access is easy.P.s.I cannot understand people rating this gem and other beaches by the criteria of how crowded it is.It is normal to expect many people on the beach during high season or if you get there late in the noon.

Vladimiros T — Google review

Perfect spot to visit. For walking through the narrow strait to the other side: take the sea-shoes with you. The sharp rocks might be too much for your feet

Nef F — Google review

Not for everyone. First you go downhill then through the shallow sea. No sunbeds and umbrellas, but shade can be found. You can reach the other beach through the woods. There are some old umbrellas and broken sunbeds, but they serve the purpose. The sea is shallow and warm. The second beach is more peaceful. If you bring your meal and eat near the woods, you might get a company, like we had.

Dragomir P — Google review

Amazing place, especially for kids and families. Considering beach itself is smaller and not organised, what I found impressive is that there's even a floating boat that sells coffee, water and cool drinks, as well as local lifeguard stand.

Ivan V — Google review

Great views. Very crowded though and the water is always very cold as at all beaches at Ionion Sea

Loucas I — Google review

Βeautiful beach with calm water without waves, especially for families with small children, you need to walk about 200 meters, it is worth visiting!

Aurel M — Google review

Very unique beach. The small island is connected to the small beach of Bella Vraka and you can literaly walk over the shallows to the other side. Clear waters but no sand. This is a stony beach with small and big stones and rocks on the sides. The beach is not organized. There are no umbrellas, no sun beds, no beach bars. There is a boat bar tha visits sometimes the beach and you can buy a drink or snack. Caution for children. Only few spots with shoal water and stones. And of course the mascot of the island couldn't be better than some original wild goats comming from the woods trying to steal your food. A must visit place for casual travelers and adventurers.

Kyriakos P — Google review

I'm not going to lie, I was expecting something much more exotic from the pictures. But the water is quite mehhh compared to other nearby beaches. The place is full of families. Which brings to a lot of agitation and noise, so is not a suitable place for absolute relaxation.

Casual beachfront hotel featuring airy accommodations, plus 2 open-air restaurants with bars.

Stayed for 2 night's in October, end of season and quiet which worked well for us, staff were lovely and helpful. Lovely Hotel with amazing views of the beach, booked and paid for a sea view room with a balcony. Room was clean, shower quite low down and had to hold to use. Lots of sun loungers around the pool and beach. Lovely breakfast included with an omlette bar. 10 min walk to Praga along the beach but up a steep hill with steps. Ate in restaurant and food was fine. Had a great stay here.

Becky L — Google review

I would like to draw attention to the ''chair manager - Νικος'' on the beach , to work on communication and improve it. Each guest is important and should be respected.Namely, I had a really bad situation in which the ''chair manager'' was very rude to me.I wanted to move to chairs that were closer to the sea, after one family left and they were empty. He showed up behind my back, I didn’t even understand he was a worker there and he just told me ,,this is busy now!'' Without any Hello or some introduction/explanation.I asked why? He boldly replied - ,,Because I'm the manager here and I can do whatever I want!"Additionaly, we left €20 even if we didn't spend that money on drinks because our bill didn't amount that much but as a cultural guest I followed the bar rule.By the way our chairs was in the 3rd row. If your policy is not to accept guests who are not from the hotel or you have some rules, inform everyone nicely, with cultural behavior.Really really bad for the beach bar imagine! Thanks

Bojan B — Google review

I had the junior suite (olive branch) that was basically a pretty reasonably sized studio flat with a kitchenette, living and dining area. The flat wasn't overlooked and you had no neighbours, so privacy was glorious, as was the view from the room and balcony. The service from the staff at reception, the restaurants and everything in-between was truly spectacular.I have a lot of love and time for this hotel and would love to visit it again one day.

Sean M — Google review

Great family run beachfront hotel has excellent staff, food and facilities. It's very clean and tidy inside, a good mix of modern and traditional. Although it has lots of steps it was ok for us and it is part of its character that's well laid out.

Chris B — Google review

Excellent location and restaurant. We had only a coffee but best coffee on the beach. Various breakfast and I think very good.

Marian G — Google review

We booked a 2 bedrooms villa with sea view and the actual room did not have any sea view. The balcony has a partial sea view only if you go to the far end. There is only one AC rattling sound for the entire unit so if you want cool air in the two bedrooms you have to sleep with the doors open. Bathroom sewer has bad smell from time to time. Talked to the front desk but their attitude is like rival and not helpful. The pool is small and got dirty by the afternoon. If two kids playing ball around then no one can swim. Beach chair would cost 20E if you don’t order food and drinks (also applied for hotel guests). Pictures from the website look over staging. Feel like scammed after staying.

Ngoc D — Google review

Very nice beach and the staff was very friendly. We stayed at Valtos Beach beach, the sunbeds were very nice, the price is 10€ per person, but you have to order from the bar, kitchen everything that you want.

Alexandra C — Google review

Nice hotel, good location, friendly and professional staff. Great breakfast, also good restaurant in the hotel. Very clean room. Nothing to complain, I would visit again.Lot of stairs, so also lot of exercise 😊

Our hotel cancelled our room last minute. We were offered a room at Valtos Beach Hotel and did not regret. Perfect hotel, friendly staff! One little minus: I can live perfectly whitout wifi, but if You provide it in the room, than it has to work. No wifi is less anoying than bad wifi. But hey, we are on holiday, so we did not bother and went to the perfect beach of the hotel (were the wifi is working excellent)

My week-long stay at Valtos Beach Resort in Parga, Greece, was absolutely perfect. Nestled on the stunning Valtos Beach, the resort offers breathtaking views, luxurious accommodations, and top-notch amenities. The infinity pool and on-site restaurant, serving exquisite Greek cuisine, were highlights. What truly stood out was the exceptional staff, whose genuine warmth and attentiveness made me feel like a valued guest. The resort's ideal location allowed easy exploration of Parga's charming town and beautiful surroundings. I wholeheartedly recommend Valtos Beach Resort and can't wait to return!

Valtos Beach Bar - We used their sunbeds for 5 days. The sunbeds are free, but you have to consume 15€ per person. Drinks, smoothies and co*cktails are very good, food delicious, and the service is not bad. Overall, it was a good experience, but slightly overpriced menu.

Papingo Rock Pools, located between the villages of Megalo and Mikro Papingo in western Zagori, offer a refreshing escape. The clear, somewhat cold water flows down from the mountains, forming natural pools among limestone rocks. Visitors can swim and cool off in these deep pools while surrounded by stunning natural beauty. The area is popular during the summer months and features impressive rock formations throughout.

It is interesting to see how the water has eroded and smoothed out the layered rocks that are characteristic of this whole region. It has shaped the stone to look like it is man made from concrete, but in a very artistic way. Combined with the colour of the water it makes it very pleasing to look at. It is an easy walk for the whole family to enjoy.

Ron S — Google review

Short and surprising hike for all the family. Very beautiful. Good environment and quiet with a lot of shade and very nice pools to get in, in various depths.

Shalev Y — Google review

Great! Beautiful place, easy to walk, sometimes you need to jump over the pools, not too hard, unless it’s summer time, must visit! Amazing place!

Li V — Google review

Super fun! The water is rather cool, but not too cold. Especially in the summer it's a very nice place to cool down and relax. You can jump from the rocks, 3 meters down into the water. The rock formations are also very impressive!

Tijl C — Google review

Ovires of Rogovo are natural pools in a narrow canyon about 1 km before the village of Mikro Papigo. We visited at the end of winter and it was empty. Lucky us. We wished we had swimwear to jump in the water but we settled for the amazing views and the beautiful surroundings as we went up the stream. It was slippery in some places so some proper shoes are needed. Avoid flip flops. Fantastic rock formations all the way.

Fraus L — Google review

Somewhat cold, fresh water coming down from the 🏔️ mountains in this beautiful corner of Zafori near, between the small and large Papigko villages. The man made barriers make a couple of big pools of water where you can swim and refresh your body and soul! The natural beauty is present in every part of this place. The water through the years has made its way through the rocks forming this magnificent formations!Very popular through the summer months.

??? ? — Google review

The water is very low now so you don't get the full effect of the pools being totally full. But it's still beautiful. Easy walk to the pools.

David A — Google review

Fantastic place! Went there in mid-April and despite the cold (water temperature 5-7 Celsius) we got in the pools! Absolutely beautiful and crystal waters!

Avgoustinos C — Google review

Very nice canyon with clear water. Make sure to go all the way to the end it is a short hike of a maybe 500 meter, it is not well marked and you need to cross sometime from the left to the right bench but overall very easy to find your way and enjoy wonderful views

Gabi Z — Google review

Very beautiful, unique place. Must visit in Zagori area. There is no problem with parking nearby and it took around 40 minutes to go until end and back.Make sure you wear non slippery shoes.

Natalia L — Google review

A great place for cooling off in high summer (when I suspect it gets busy at times) but otherwise a bit lacklustre. What you get to see depends a great deal on when you go and how much water there is. The first pools you encounter are manmade - dams hold the water back to create bathing areas, but when the sluices are open the water is pretty shallow. Penetrate further along the stream into the cleft in the rock and it quickly becomes pretty with interesting vegetation growing out of the walls, but it is difficult to go far without walking in the stream itself, which varies from a trickle to a torrent.

Stephen C — Google review

The drive there is EPIC both in beauty and adrenaline. Due to little rain the pools themselves were pretty,, yet less impressive than expected. The two villages are lovely and all in all we had a wonderful time. Stargazing recommended, saw quote a few shooting stara.

Johanna B — Google review

It's a sight that is worth visiting but I don't recommend swimming in its waters. It's something special and the temperature is a little bit cooler than the villages. There is no ticket to visit it.

Giannis Z — Google review

"Are you far from the river?". Our trip to the River Acheron was the highlight of our recent holiday in Parga. It is a truly extraordinary experience which I will never forget. 1 star. I was having a good time at this river when this weird electronic music started playing and a guy who kept calling himself zoink started chasing me. I almost died trying to jump over these 4 spikey rocks but somehow made it with this picture-frame perfect leap. the guy kept spouting nonsense about "the thermodynamics of club monsters" and "doggie smashes his keyboard" until I finally got away from him. I got back to my car at one point, and as soon as I was about to step in, I heard some shout "RATE MY LEVEL ROBTOP" off in the distance. overall bad experience.

Visitors can take the ferry for a fast cruise to the island of Ioannina where Byzantine churches and Ali Pasa’s museum are located. The castle of Ioannina with 3.

Very nice lake! You can walk around or get in one of the boats that do tours in the lake and enjoy the calm atmosphere. It is quite big and the scenery with all the trees and the birds and swans is lovely. There are also many restaurants around the lake so that anyone can enjoy the view while having a coffee or a meal. I would visit it again.

Pamvotida (Pamvotis in Ancient Greek:the great provider) with a surface of 22.8 sqm/km is not only the largest lake of Epirus but the second oldest lake in Europe. Two bryozoan species have recently been reported from the lake. YouThe lake is supplied by the springs of Mount Mitsikeli, of Drabatova, Sendeniko and Krya. The waters usually calm freeze occasionally. You would see locals and tourists alike to spend sunny summer days on its shores, walk next to the lake or having a meal/drink in the local restaurants, coffee shops, snack bars while enjoying the view. There are thick reed beds around the lakeside as well as dense thickets of willows, poplar trees and huge plane trees which offer shelter from the wind to host local and migrational birds. Herons, grebe, snipe, swans and cormorants add to the natural beauty of the area. Lake Pamvotida is also home to Tsima (Τσίμα), a species of fish endemic to the lake.In the center of the Lake Pamvotida, there is a picturesque island with many small monasteries, which can easily be visited because of the close distance between them. They were mainly built during the 13th century, when after the fall of Constantinople by the Franks in 1204 aristocratic families of the Byzantine capital, such as the family of Philanthropinoi, the Stratigopoulos, etc. fled here and founded the Despotate of Epirus. The monasteries reached their pick in the 16th century and their decline and desolation at the beginning of the 19th century when Ali Pasha, the Ottoman ruler of the area, trespassed the monasteries wealth and inflicted heavy taxation upon the residents. In 1822, in one of the cells of the Monastery of Panteleimon on the island the legendary Ali Pasha of Ioannina left his last breath. It was the outcome of his resistance to resign his official his official post as ordered by Sultan Mahmut II. To go to the island take one of the boats at Molos and in approximately six minutes you will reach your destination.

Specialty Museums

Series of waxwork dioramas created by sculptor Pavlos Vrellis & recreating events in Greek history.

One of the most beautiful museums - the wax statues are so detailed you feel they are alive.set in different periods they show scenes of the most significant events in the Greek history. The building inside is cleverly designed - you go through dark corridors and see the statues behind windows in various scenes. The last part is the artist's selection of various events . No photos or videos are allowed. Don't miss it!

Maria L — Google review

It's definitely worth your while. The surroundings are like you're in a cave. Attention is paid to every detail, even weed growing between stones.

Ellen S — Google review

This privately run museum was created by a single person, Pavlos Vrellis, who was passionate about Greek History. You will see several exceptionally made wax sculptures, representing several historical figures. The gruesome period before and after the Greek Independence War in 1821 is well represented. While Greek people will be familiar with (most of) these personalities, there is very little background information in English. The tour guides will offer a few details, but it's a good idea to study the museum's comprehensive website before visiting.Tickets cost 6 euros. Photography is explicitly not allowed, due to the grim nature of many of the exhibits.

Vanessa E — Google review

It is an extraordinary museum, and the sculptures are so realistic. My kids were so thrilled and especially with the Greek and Turkish War exhibition sculptures. What have these people suffered for our freedom.....Its a MUST see when you go to Ioannina.A big THANK YOU to Mr. Vrelli 🙏🙂

Dionisia P — Google review

I have been here twice and I'd come again. I would recommend this experience as an art piece and not as an accurate representation of history. It is a marvelous thing 💜 you can find all the photos in their site as photography inside is not allowed

Sasa C — Google review

A really interesting wax museum à la Tussaud's, limited to excellent life-sized dioramas of scenes from greek history. The historical context may perplex non-greeks, however the artistic value of the scenes makes it worth a visit. Please mind the short uphill walk from the car park to the museum.

Haris G — Google review

The personages seems not so "real" and if you are "claustrophobic " its not a good idea to go here you are in the dark and it's cold and some personages move her eyes to look at you ... you don't feel so relax and you can not take photography and if you take the security gonna follow you on your back until the end like you have killed someone or like you have do the one abominable think it's stupid and crazy because in England you have the same thing and better with all the cinema star and you can take photos and touch the personages and it's seems more real it's stupid !

Gabrielle F — Google review

A well built and impressively staged collection of wax models, inspired by the Greek history. The way the exhibits are presented is original and really gets the visitor in the right mood.On the other hand, there were at least two things I considered negative. The first one, is the lack of a guided tour, which is up to a point understandable because of the narrow spaces, the existence of lots of stairs and the details given on tags for each exhibit. As a result, although missing, I would not say that a guided tour is "needed" at least for the majority of visitors. The most important drawback, in my personal opinion, is the prohibition of taking photos in the museum, for no obvious reason. Furthermore, the visitor is not informed for the prohibition in advance (when buying the ticket) but at the museum entrance, after he has already paid for it.The whole prohibition makes the experience less complete and certainly does not help spreading the experience publicly.Having visited many museums globally, this prohibition seems to be a bad "habit" in Greek museums, for no obvious reason.

Kathisma Beach, situated on the west coast of Lefkada, is a well-organized beach that draws crowds due to its white sandy stretch and turquoise waters. The area offers various amenities such as restaurants, cafes and bars, sun-beds and umbrellas. Additionally, visitors can indulge in thrilling activities like paragliding from the mountainside of Kathisma Beach. This family-friendly location is also popular among couples for its beautiful sunsets surrounded by stunning cliffs.

I think the most accessible beach if you come by car, easy to reach compared to the other beaches in Lefkada. Very beautiful, clear waters, azure. When we were there at the end of April, there were a maximum of 10 people on the beach, without sunbeds but you don't even need them, it's nice like that... In season it's definitely full. Definitely recommended for those who want to get there more easily and have the comfort of a terrace or a sunbed

Magic colours. One of the Best beaches in Greece without a dought. 4 star due to the huge waves though. You can't enjoy its waters. Pitty!

Vasilis S — Google review

The beach with the most ammenities in Lefkada. Showers, toilets, bars, pools, clubs, restaurants, parking, easiest access. It can get very crowded and noisy (depending on the neighbours). Child friendly when the sea is calm, but when the waves start it becomes difficult even for the adults. We stayed at Soul, €20 pair of chairs and umbrella (very comfortable and new), parking in the shade included for customers. You can bring your own drinks, or order from them.If you want to bring your umbrellas you have more room and privacy in the left corner of the beach, where is also the best food on the beach, at Akrogiali restaurant. The water shoes are recommended, but it's also bearable if you forget them.

Victor P — Google review

Stunning beach! A lot of parking place (5 euro per day). But make sure you come in the early morning like 7 AM. The water will be warm and the beach will be empty. Around 10-11 AM the beach get busier and busier and becomes VERY CROWDED.August 2021

Dmytro B — Google review

This was in my opinion the best beach we have been in Lefkada in our trip. It has quite easy access and big free parking. The beach is big, wide and even if a lot of people, they spread in the area. The water is crystal clear. It had big wave when we have been and is getting quite deep fast. On top you have plenty of Restaurants.

Lukasz D — Google review

this is the beach that is the hardest to get to, it is rich in contents on the beach from paragliding to bars and restaurants. the possibility of renting sunbeds. the price of two sunbeds with an umbrella, water and a towel are included somewhere. somewhere not, they ranged from 10-25E. it depends on the location and the choice itself. it is easy to enter the sea. there are countless parking lots, some covered and in the shade, some not. prices were from 5-10E for the whole day. if you have children, then this is the beach for you. because it's really easy to get to. the others are just as beautiful in their own way, but not as accessible as this one. because of this accessibility, this beach is the most crowded.

Tihomir ? — Google review

I've never seen the sea so blue ever. This is a beautiful beach. It has tavernas and bars for food and drinks, even a pool in one of them. Beware it gets deep quickly but a must for a day on the beach. Carparking facilties also.

Terry H — Google review

Top top beach. We spend most of our vacation on Kathisma beach. You have it all, restaurants, showers, toilets, sunbeds, a lot of room for your towels. Beach is clean and water is superb.

Aleksandar C — Google review

The vigorous biting of the waves slowly grinds the rocks into coarse sand, maybe in another million years the process will grind it into fine sand. The sunset here is incredible, the lights and shades are almost surreal from a movie on a distant planet. Huges waves rock the swimmers in the late afternoon as the sun prepares to sleep. The water deepens fast but it's so much fun to float on those whales. Elegant restaurants await for the luxury seekers as well as the family man who wants a chow. Winding road leads to the parking right on the beach. Those unlucky to find it for free on the side of the road can pay 10 euros for shaded parking. On occasion ducking is recommended as paragliders land elegantly and with ease on free zones.

Andras D — Google review

Very nice sandy-stone beach! It is easily accessible by car but parking might be a bit difficult, although not too hard. It is very easily accessible for anyone as the road is right next to the beach. The beach itself is very pretty, but usually very crowded. On my visit I did not experience any waves, so it was very peaceful, however if you find yourself here when it's windy I advise to stay out of the water. There are plenty of bars where one can go to get drinks or food (or use a bathroom). A very nice place to swim is near some rocks on the right side of the beach, where it is also usually quieter.

Daniel L — Google review

Absolutely stunning place! The turquoise water is simply beautiful! At has pebbles but they’re kind of on the smaller side so it’s still possible to walk without water shoes. When we visited the waves were big and it wasn’t possible to get in the water to swim. Kids enjoyed it on the shore and still had plenty of fun and absolutely loved it. Parking was free but sunbeds were 10 euros for 2 sunbeds and umbrella.

Audioholic - — Google review

Amazing beach with spectacular turquoise coloured water. Small pebbles mostly.Expect intense waves, which can be lots of fun if you like it.Sunbeds and restaurants with service at the beach, some also with a pool.Sunbeds 15-25 Euros [2 beds and a beach umbrella].Paragliding opportunity.

Csaba S — Google review

A very nice beach, especially if you come with little kids or you just want to have all the facilities (parking, different sitting options, multiple restaurants, toilets etc). There are other beaches in Lefkada which are way nicer but for confort I recommend Katshima.

Intrarea în mare destul de abruptă.(Translated by Google)A large, highly commercial beach located on the west coast of Lefkada island. Multiple beach bars with service and relaxation areas + parking. There is also free parking, but spaces are limited. Spacious but crowded beach, variously compartmentalized (15-45 Euro for a set of sunbeds and umbrella). The water is an extremely beautiful turquoise blue, quite rough. Big waves make swimming almost impossible. The entrance to the sea is quite steep.

Razvan D — Google review

The beach is spectacular. The water has many incredibly beautiful colors but the waves are too big to swim in. Sunbeds are 15 euros and 25 euros per 2 pieces with an umbrella.

Benny M — Google review

One of the great advantages of this beach is that in the price of parking you have included the lounger with umbrella. The sea is extremely beautiful, but, at times a bit unresting. Surely worth the trip!!

Mylos Beach is located in the northwest of Lefkada and offers a serene and picturesque environment with fine sand. It is quite secluded, which makes it a perfect destination for those seeking peace and tranquility away from crowds. Access to the beach can only be done on foot or by boat, which adds to its exclusivity. Visitors who enjoy adventurous walks will appreciate the scenic 10-minute trek from Agios Nikitas, providing stunning views of the rugged cliffs surrounding the bay.

Really beautiful natural beach with azure sea, without big waves. Slightly worse acces - 15 minutes by forest path with approximately 100m elevation gain. But Beach is big and without crowds.

AMAZING!! Beautiful beach with an extremely pretty hike before and after. Water is crystal with wonderful sea life and pebbles underneath. Bring your own umbrella and chairs if you don’t want to pay for any. Chairs and umbrellas range from 25 to 35 euros. Very affordable greek food is available on the beach as the man passes with a tray full of delicacies. Also a normal beach restaurant really close but have not tried. The landscaping around the beach is just astonishing!

maryam — Google review

Wonderful, deserted beach - especially early in the morning. Bit of a trek to get there from the village. Don't believe that there are any other public accesses - but there appear to be private accesses from the properties above the beach. No facilities or tavernas on the beach.

Ian D — Google review

It was a challenging walk to get there, but it was worth it for the superlative breathtaking views. The beach is whitewashed and laced with small pebbles and the water was the bluest/turquoise as i have ever seen in Europe. You can hire sunbeds between 25-30 euros. However, the beach is sof enough to lie on. Just remember to take a sun umbrella, as there is no shade. I suggest taking your own food and beverages as a small mythos and mini bar sized wine will set you back 12 euros. The return trip was made a lot easier by taking one of the many taxi boats, which run around every 20 minutes , costing 4 euros per person. Stunning...

Simon K — Google review

For us, this was the best beach on the island. You must go through the forest, l went barefoot, twice, it is not that hard and it is awesome to be in the nature, and than get that view of the sea. It has small pebbles so you can easily walk barefoot on the beach as well, and there were some small waves, so we could swim. Not too crowded.

Katarina T — Google review

Amazing beach with a 15/20 mins walk up and down the hill, I went in May it was almost empty as pictures

Haytham I — Google review

Beautiful and quiet beach. You need to hike a bit, about 25 minutes to get there. It is a bearable hike in the morning, but quite hard in the midday/afternoon. It’s the most quiet in the morning and late afternoon, but in the middle of the day it gets crowded. There are paid lounges and umbrellas on the beach and a lot of free space for your own towels and umbrellas. There are a lot of good tavernas on the main road, before/after the hike to the beach.

Daria M — Google review

Very nice and wide beach on the western coast of the island. The water is nice and clear but the seabed gets steep quite fast so be cautious. The beach is comfortably wide, mostly sandy, and it doesn't feel crowded even at peak hours. There are no facilities, so come prepared. As far as the access goes, there are 2 ways of reaching Mylos: a hike through the pine forest (proper shoes are necessary) or a 4m taxi boat from Agios Nikitas (it costs EUR 4 / person / trip, first boat is at 10 AM and they continue the rides pretty often but without any fixed schedule). Also keep in mind that there is a 10m walk from the nearest possible parking spot (roadside) in Agios Nikitas to the beach/harbour

George I — Google review

Very beautiful, the view is breathtaking. You can reach it by walking via the mountain or taxi boat. You will find there a cafe and sun-beds. Highly recommended to visit. Great experience.

Jocelyn S — Google review

Gorgeous beach for swimming! Sun, sand, waves, beautiful colors of the water and pebbles. It is not completely wild beach, you can rent an umbrella sunbeds combo. But keep in mind it's dubble the price as to the other beaches. All other beaches were €10 per set, here was €20! The rule was take it leave it. The price was a bit disappointing, but we payed nevertheless. Also it's quite a hike to get to the beach, and then you have to go back same steep difficult way. The better option is to go by water taxi, you take in the Agios Nikitas, it costs €3 per person one way. It's quick and easy!

Liljana D — Google review

Awesome beach close to Agios Nikitas. The beach could be reached by boat taxi (4€ per person in one direction) or over the hill by foot. The way over the hill is 20 minutes walk and track to the beach is combination of steep dirt path and stone stairs. Confortable footware is recomended (sneakers), no slippers, no flip flops. It is not for people with health issues. There is nothing on the beach, so it is recomended to bring everything you need with you.It is posible to rent a sunbeds 20€ per set.

Zoran J — Google review

Beautiful beach which you can reach with a boat(4 Euro pro Person one way)or with a hike! It has a lot of place and it is not crowded! The only problem is the parking! Sometimes you need to make 3-4 rounds until you find a parking place. TIP: GO MORE DOWN, OUT OF THE CITY AND PARK THERE! There are a lot o free places and a very nice path which brings you directly to the beach! 🙂 🙌

Adrian K — Google review

One of the most beautiful places I have ever been, you can walk there or take the boat taxi . You can find a place to park somewhere in the village near by and then it's like 1 km to the beach by feet .

Constantin R — Google review

Just one perfect beach. There are two ways to come to the beach, by walking (hiking) and via taxi boat (around 5 euro one way ticket, I think). Recommend to walk, it is around 15 minutes from Agios Nikitas, not for everyone due to it can be a little bit hard and challenging but view is amazing. Not so many people in September, water is perfect.

Marko J — Google review

Simply incredible!!! My favourite beach on Lefkada, it was simply wonderful! There are two ways to access it: By a relatively easy pathway through a wonderful forest or by sea taxi boats (4€ per person). Once there, plenty of space is available for setting up. You can also rent an umbrella, although I advise against it as they have a hefty price of 30€. It is best to bring your own umbrella. The waters are the clearest and most aqua-turquoise-colored I probably saw in Lefkada, and it definitely was the most refreshing swim of my trip. The beach is also perfect for snorkeling, as many fish reside near the cliffs and in the shallows. There is also a cantine located on the top of some sand dunes, although I could not tell you any pricing since I did not go to it. Definitely visit this beach, if you can.

Daniel L — Google review

Great beach, and sea water.Park where you can find free space on the main road. There are parking lots but you need to pay around 7 E per day. And the street parking is free. Usually the street that goes through the village is closed so don't try to go there. To the beach we went with boat it was 4 e per person (children as well) and it took 5-7min.There is walking path that is across the hill and it is 20 min long with combination of stairs, forest, narrow path with roots. The beach has small bar with coffees, water, drinks. The sunbeds are 20/30/40 euros per two sunbeds and one umbrella depending of the closeness of the water. It is an experience to be on this beach.

Marina M — Google review

Nice beach!!! Very calm even when it was quite busy!! There are umbrellas and sun beads but you can use your own stuff as well!! The path to the beach is 10-15 min walk, but there is a boat from Agios Nikitas as well in case you don’t want to walk!!!

Sotirchos E — Google review

Nice beach with really clear water. There were a few (old) sunbeds available for 40€ a pair. There is also a small bar. You can get to this beach with a boat taxi (4€ - tickets on board) from Agios Nikitas. I recommend bringing your own umbrella / sunbeds.

Kashan A — Google review

A very beautiful beach, the road to it is tiring, but it is nature. I would not recommend it to people with limited mobility. You need to be lucky for parking, but that's why it is free. I would recommend it in any case.

Very nice and climatic place. You need to walk around 10-15 minutes to reach the place from the parking place. There is a lot of people be aware. I had a plan to get into the water while being there, but when I reached the destination I decided not too. The waterfall is too small (not enough rain) and water is simply dirty as there is not enough to run fast.

4th of May 2022.The Averoff Museum of Neohellenic Art was opened during August 1988. It has the permanent exhibition and many others from time to time. The permanent exhibition has 250 works by the major Greek painters, printmakers and sculptors of the 19th and 20th century, like Fasianos, Egonopoulos, Lytras, Volanakis, Parthenis, Hadjikyriakos-Ghikas, Moralis and many more. Two of the paintings that we used to ‘meet’ in our books at school, there are also there. These two are: the dude eating his watermelon of 1880 (ο μάγκας που τρώει καρπούζι) from Pantazis Periklis and the burning of the Turkish flagship by Kanaris (Η πυρπόληση της τουρκικής ναυαρχίδας από τον Κανάρη) of 1873 by Lytras Nikiforos.Still life is alternating with colorful landscapes and angelic faces are alternating with sad ones in this museum full of history, that you should not miss.Of course, for those who seek the unexpected, there is the room with the modern means of expression. Take a look and enjoy.Tip: Do not miss the room with Metsovo’s history unfolding through photos.@traveladvicefromagreek

Today I called the people of this Holy place to arrange a night of stay in the monastery.I could easily stay in a hotel and this is not the matter...The sensation of staying in a divine place was that I was looking for.I was so wrong...A non kind guy replied to my call and also told me that there is no place for my small dog in their place. So sorry for the experience I had and thank you for blocking my way towards you. I had a completely wrong idea about you. There is no scenario I can control on earth that can separate me from my loyal friend.May God spare you enlightment.Jesus was just right again.

The Monastery of Proussos was named from the Icon of Panagia Prousiotissa from Proussa in Minor Asia. It is a historic building that has kept expanding due to donations. The location is impressive and it can get very busy as buses arrive from all over the world to visit this. We loved the old clock and the oldest part of the monastery. One star less as it looked more like a business modern monastery that does not fit with the older part of the church. Still architectonically it is beautiful and you should definitely visit it.

Fraus L — Google review

Beautiful landscape with amazing view. Must visit

Antonis B — Google review

One of the most beautiful historical monasteries in Greece. A journey on time with a breathtaking location. A visitor could learn a lot about medieval and modern Greek and religious history while visiting this monastery. Also, really close to Proussos village and Mavri Spilia. Highly recommended for a true travel experience.

A monastery with a very old history worth visiting

This thousand year old monastery is an awesome sight. A major pilgrimage for Greeks, it is nestled atop a steep ravine, an aerie seeking the majesty of Heaven. You'll be overwhelmed

Παναγιά μου η Προυσιώτισσα Δόξα Σοι! The place is easily accessible and it's surrounded with appealing nature! You can feel the divine atmosphere all over the Monastery of Virgin Mary called Prousiotissa. You can visit it anytime of the year any day of the week and timetable is posted on Google if you type the name of the Monastery! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did, God bless us all, Amen!!!

Emily G — Google review

An amazing monastery in gorgeous wild greenery of all kinds. The picture of the Panagia is 1200 years old. Great place to visit albeit not the easiest to get to.

Miran S — Google review

Very beautiful monastery in a special location. It's amazing the feeling you get when you get there and face it. We enjoyed the view, we learned the history of the monastery from a monk who wanted to explain it to us. Information: Better not to bother the monks unless they show you they are available. Some are there to get away from other people and get closer to god through prayer.

Philippos S — Google review

Mesmerizing monastery with a breathtaking mountainous view. It is quite strenuous to access the monastery due to the many road bends, however, when getting there you won't regret it.

Matina K — Google review

If you can stomach the continuous turns on the way, the scenery and final destination will reward you. One of the most beautiful monasteries and church built inside a rock, has significant historic and religious value. Despite the high volume of pilgrims it was very organized with all facilities clean.

Evi M — Google review

It is a definitely a place to visit white in the area. Not recommended when raining or snowing. The clock tower opposite to the Monastery is a unique and the view from the top is awesome

Invest G — Google review

Worth seeing it no matter your religion if you have any. The view is astonishing and there are many walking paths with amazing waterfalls and wild nature.

Churches & Cathedrals

The Holy Church of Saint Andrew the Apostle is a significant pilgrimage site in Patras, boasting a Byzantine-style basilica with 13 domes and a gold-plated cross. It houses holy relics, including the head of Saint Andrew. This Greek Orthodox church is renowned for its impressive size and beautiful mosaic art. Interestingly, the smaller church on the right features an exquisite fresco on its ceiling.

Amazing Church. Having as well the relics of Saint Andrew and an extraordinary pieces of Art in all the way place this cathedral maybe the second place to visit in Greece. If you visit Patras it's a pitty to miss this place. Highly reccommanded.

It was a spiritual experience to admire the iconography and learn of church's history. Stunning interior is an understatement. A definite highlight even for non religious tourists.

Thanks 🙏 to the Saint Andrew for being with him today in his place, it was a great honour for me to visit him!!! God bless you all!!!

Anca P — Google review

The Saint Andreas Orthodox church in Patras is a stunning basilica that hosts the relics of the city’s patron saint, the apostle Andrew. The church is the largest in Greece and has a beautiful dome, a marble iconostasis, and impressive frescoes and mosaics. I highly recommend visiting this church if you are in Patras.Historical trivia: Saint Andrew was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ and the brother of Simon Peter. He is said to have preached the gospel in various regions, including Asia Minor, Scythia, and Greece. He was martyred in Patras by being crucified on an X-shaped cross, which is now known as the Saint Andrew’s cross.

Dimitris K — Google review

Very nice church and a historical site of St Andrew. If in Patra is a must visit.

Jim L — Google review

It is one of the most important places to visit in Patra. They say that here is kept the head of Saint Andrew and also that this church is the biggest of all balcany. It is impressive indeed how big it is, if you consider that Orthodox churches are smaller than the Catholic ones. A curiosity is that the first church wasn't the biggest one, but the one at the right, where I really suggest to enter, cause it has an amazing fresco in the ceiling.

Delphi is a modern town located west of the ancient archaeological site. The town was established to accommodate the population of Castro, which had to be relocated for the excavation of the ancient Delphi site. Ancient Delphi, situated on Mt Parnassos with views of the Gulf of Corinth and surrounded by olive trees, is considered one of Greece's most spiritually significant archaeological sites.

Museums

The Delphi Archaeological Museum houses a vast collection of architectural sculptures, statues, and other precious objects donated to the ancient Greek oracle from the 8th century BC onwards. It is a matter of debate whether to visit the museum or site first, as both offer unique experiences. The museum provides visitors with insights into what the site may have looked like during its prime, featuring wealthy buildings and vividly coloured statues.

The museum is right next to the Delphi ruins and holds most of the (small) items found on the site and the more monuments/decorative stones used on the buildings. The museum isn't that big and takes the general visitor less than half an hour.Including the Delphi ruins this is a sight worth seeing.

Stanly — Google review

Wonderful museum showing the amazing finds throughout the ancient temple area. Offers plenty of information about its life as a religious center for the ancient Greeks. So many things to see, plan to spend sometime slowly making your way through.

Brian S — Google review

Really incredible museum and building! Loved how the building stands on stilts overtop of an archaeological site with several places to view from. It's easy to understand why it has won so many awards with its thoughtful design that compliments the exhibits without taking away from them. Note that you are not allowed to bring backpacks into the museum. I was asked to check my backpack but it was free and an efficient system. No worries there.

Matt W — Google review

Archaeological site and museum locate beside each other, just off the road. Finally, found a spot in 5 – 10 minutes’ walk. Since no specific parking lot provided, there is a chance, need to go back and forth to find a spot after somebody’s leaving. Staff were very nice and welcome. Site is located in the heights and good looking landscape. You would see different nationality, professional and nice travelers, interested in history. There was some information about monument but it could be more. There were some shops for statues and souvenirs with good price. Still there is a chance to negotiate. Local people were welcome to provide information, to help to find parking spot, and to show the ways.

Nima M — Google review

Visiting the Delphi archaeological site and museum was an unforgettable journey into the heart of ancient Greece. The site itself, nestled on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, offers breathtaking views and a palpable sense of history. Exploring the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, the theater, and the stadium was like stepping back in time, imagining the rituals and competitions that once took place there. The museum, with its impressive collection of artifacts, beautifully complements the outdoor experience. From intricately carved statues to delicate pottery, each exhibit tells a story of the people who once inhabited this sacred place. The highlight for me was seeing the iconic Charioteer statue up close, its serene expression and masterful craftsmanship truly awe-inspiring.The staff at both the site and the museum were knowledgeable and passionate, adding depth to the experience with their insights and anecdotes. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply seeking to connect with the past, a visit to Delphi is a must-do. It's a place where ancient wonders come to life, leaving a lasting impression on all who have the privilege to explore its treasures.

We were very pleased to make our visit to Delphi including the archaeological museum. All of those things that we have read and heard about all our lives regarding Apollo and his role in Greek history were brought to life. We really enjoyed our visit.

I am so proud to be Greek Origin and very happy to see all these historic places…congratulations to people, devoted to this sacred place!PS I recommend to visit very early in the morning to see the sun rising up the mountains…ones in a lifetime experience

Alexia G — Google review

Incredible history behind an ancient center of religion. Imagine asking and then getting advice from a woman who babbled from inhaled vapors which then were interpreted by priests in a vague manner so as to allow the questioner to figure out the answer for themselves. And then the vast mini temples and tributes to the Oracle...It blows the mind as to how powerful and influential this place was.

Bill B — Google review

Good museum. You definitely need an engaging tour guide to get proper context and history behind each display. The museum felt a little congested and the air conditioning is bad. No proper ventilation. Overall a good museum to visit. Just make sure to grab a fan to get yourself some air.

Worth the drive - don't miss Delphi! This was one of the best parts of the our Greek trip! Delphi is so beautiful and magical. It was worth the two hour drive from Athens. We took a tour with Getaways Greece which was a day trip. The vistas were just beautiful on the drive. Once you get to Delphi it's like you're transported to somewhere magical! I loved it better than Acropolis which was so touristy. The crowds were sparse here and it was lovely to take in the sites at your own pace without being herded like cattle.Mind you it does take a bit of walking if you want to get to the top to see the stadium. But even if you don't go all the way to the top it is still a beautiful place to visit and you can still get a lot out of it without going to the top. Wear comfortable shoes.

Anonymous A — Google review

Beautiful museum and incredible site to explore. We had a private guide that explained all of the historical significance of the site.I'll just add one warning: the incline is steep and the steps are uneven. If mobility is an issue, as it was for me, making it to the top to see the theater, may not be possible.

jenninowak — Google review

Nice musium! Very explanatory through the texts that describe the different monuments! It is relatively small thus it is not getting boring for smaller children lets say. It combines the outside area of Delphi that is very pretty with a beautiful view! A pleasant experience for sure!

Θ T — Google review

the museum is short but the archeological site is wonderful. make sure you visit it in the afternoon and you have a bottle of water with you. the number of buses coming for this objective is amazing, one of the best rated in Greece. if you meet a group with guide in the same room you cannot visit it peacefully.

Bogdan V — Google review

If your visiting Delphi this is a must see. The museum really helps put the ruins in perspective and context. Lots of ancient artifacts found at the site. It's very affordable and not huge, I wouldn't see spending more than maybe a few hours.

Erica S — Google review

Great place to visit if you're in the area. Plenty to see and learn during this site. The path is nicely laid out, and you should be able to see everything should you follow the correct path. The archeological site also offers an amazing view of the mountains, especially as you get higher towards the stadium. The ticket price also offers entry into the museum, which offers historic displays and artefacts from the archeological site.Don't forget to visit the other two archeological sites just a little further down the road (gymnasium and Athena... Something - should be visible on Google Maps).Walkable to and from the town of Delphi as well, so you can definitely spend a good few hours there, wandering around and learning about this site and its historical importance.

Ricko S — Google review

Delphi Archeological site is a jewel. Wear good shoes and bring a hat! Even at 8 am in middle of May, there were already tour buses, so be aware there will be crowds.

Lise J — Google review

An exceptional archaeological site as well as a museum. It is not indicated anywhere, but due to the extreme heat, the working hours have been changed. In the morning they work from 8h to 13h and then from 17:30h to 20h. The disadvantage is that children from 12 to 25 years old outside the European Union are not entitled to free entry but pay half price.

Milica S — Google review

I would advise doing this with a guide if your interested in more then just taking photos. You get a much more in depth experience and an understanding of what your looking at. Museum and the temple ruins were amazing. Note the stadium is about 10-15 mins further up from the ruins.

Damian B — Google review

A great museum and extraordinary archeological site. The admission price of €12 gives you access to both. So the site early as it gets hot and the museum after. Also you avoid the crowds if you go early. Amazing history and buildings.

G M — Google review

If you are going to Meteora stop here and enjoy this place. The drive is amazing and so is the small town a mile down the road. This place has very complete ruins which are awesome.

Kunal C — Google review

Not too big but interesting, best to go after visiting the main site as you'll have an idea where many of the things on exhibit were from. Good written information, you'll get a lot even without a tour guide. It can be packed with tours, plan between 20 and 60 minutes depending on how much you want to read and the crowds to squeeze through.

Pawel M — Google review

This museum wasn't too bad, especially since the ticket to the Sanctuary of Apollo came with the museum ticket. For the size of the place, I was kind of expecting it to be wall to wall artifacts and it really wasn't. With the museum and the archeological sites, maybe took a few hours to read about and take in.

Brian M — Google review

The Delphi Archaeological Museum, nestled in the heart of Greece, serves as a mesmerizing window into the ancient world, showcasing the rich cultural and religious heritage of the Delphic sanctuary, revered throughout antiquity as the home of the famous oracle. This museum is a treasure trove of history, housing an extensive collection of artifacts that span thousands of years, including the iconic Charioteer of Delphi, the Sphinx of Naxos, and the remnants of the Temple of Apollo. The exhibits, arranged chronologically, offer a comprehensive overview of the development of the art and thought of ancient Greece, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts. Beyond its historical significance, the museum's location offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valley and mountains, adding a layer of natural beauty to the experience. Visiting the Delphi Archaeological Museum is not just a journey into the past; it's an opportunity to connect with the wisdom and artistry of ancient civilizations, making it a pivotal stop for anyone exploring Greece's rich heritage.

Panagiotis B — Google review

An exceptional archaeological site as well as a museum. Temples, amphitheatre, athlete stadium and many structures of this ancient world. Incredible museum with awe inspiring artefacts.

Jean-philippe G — Google review

A definite highlight of my families Greek vacation. Come stand at the Temple of Apollo and imagine it's 7th century BC and your about to ask the Oracle a question. The grounds here take you back to a time that predates most of what we know about history. Beautiful museum to see and then walk through what used to be ancient Delphi and make your way to the amphitheatre at the Pinnacle.

Philip S — Google review

You can visit this amazing place from parking to peak in an hour. And if you do, you're cheating yourself. If you don’t want to leave with regrets, commit at least four hours for this exploration of antiquities and yourself. We were on a private tour. It was supposed to be a small group of 6 to 8 people. But we were the only customers that day so it was my partner, myself, our guide and our driver. It was perfect! Do not, I repeat, do NOT book a large group tour! You will be one of 60 people wearing a headset, separated from everyone, in your private purgatory, trying to stay within range of your distant guide’s transmission. But don’t trust me. “Know thyself.” Know for yourself. Visit & form your own opinions.

James C — Google review

A beautiful site full of ancient history and breathtaking views. Museum perfectly ads to the walk through the different time periods of its famous history and events.

T C — Google review

A must visit the museum. There are so many artifacts that were in very good condition or very well restored. One should visit the site first and then visit the museum. There are no restrooms inside the museum, you need to go out for that. Also make sure to check the time slot in your ticket, and visit the museum within that time to avoid issues.

Sights & Landmarks

The Temple of Apollo is an ancient historical landmark with significant cultural and religious importance. It boasts 6 restored Doric columns from the 300s BCE and has been visited by many over thousands of years. Located in Delphi, the ruins include the Fountain of Peirene, the Agora where Paul's trial by Gallio took place, and the famous Bema stands. Another famous Temple of Apollo is located in Naxos, known as Portara or Doorway.

Great temple with historic value, it takes a while to get there but the entrance is not that expensive and everything is well explained, I recommend going here with a guide for the full experience, the ticket is 12 euros and includes a visit to the museum. Both sites have toilets

Some nice history about the temple. Somewhat disappointing when you get to the top and there isn't much else but the theatre and not much of a view. The best view would be from somewhere in the middle overlooking the theatre. If you want to learn more about it then would recommend a tour guide. Can sometimes be packed with a lot of tours

Delphi and the Temple of Apollo was excellent, I very much enjoyed exploring these ruins and seeing something similar to what people thousands of years ago would have seen when going to hear from the Oracle. Wear good shoes as the walk up is steep.

A must visit site. Better with a tour guide. Enjoyed the tour since our tour guide had a lot of stories and jokes. Peaceful environment. Area is steep so recommend a good walking shoes and bring drinking water. Not for those with uncontrolled hypertension

Marylaine D — Google review

It is hard to imagine how this place looked at its glory. It took more than a thousand years to fully develop this site. This is the most famous Oracle site in the ancient world. Has fallen into decline in 5th century after Christianity was officially introduced in Greece.

Tomek I — Google review

Got there at 3:15 pm and was denied entry because last entrance is at 3:10 even though Google maps says 8:30-4:00 pm.I came from overseas and drove all the way from Athens to see this temple, and the ladies would not budge to let us in, even though we would pay and had travelled so far. She even had the nerve to ask “what I was doing all day” since they open at 8:30 am. Ridiculous way to treat guests who are visiting your country for the first time.Anyway, there’s a cool hike behind the temple that overlooks the mountains. Much better than just the temple and it’s open 24/7! :)

Bodies of Water

Lake Doxa, also known as Limni Doxa, is an artificial lake located in western Corinthia, Greece. Situated at an elevation of 900 meters, it offers a stunning Alpine-like landscape throughout the year. The area is surrounded by lush wooded shores and features nature trails for hiking and cycling. Visitors can also enjoy activities such as horseback riding and hydrobiking on the lake.

Beautiful lake with water bikes, canoes, a little chapel and tables with locally produced products. Great place for a picnic, bicycle or just to enjoy the view. Not sure if you are allowed to swim.

Lake Doxa offers an amazing Alpine-like landscape all year round. Maybe in winter the scenery gets more dramatic and movie-like. Prefer to visit on days of non-public holidays as it gets really crowded. Thus you'll get to experience the beauty and silence of nature in all its glory. Hiking, horse riding and canoe are some of the activities you can enjoy while you're here. You can also see Lake Doxa in a recent travel film (along with nearby villages and the region of Stymphalia) called WanderSoul: Beyond the road which I'll list below. If you love nature and the mountain region of Corinthia, this is definitely worth a watch...Video: https://youtu.be/d5hM3xLlSqY

It is situated at an elevation of 900 m' In the heart of the lake on a small peninsula features a small church of Agios Fanourios. The area of Lake, which has been declared as NATURA area, is of outstanding natural beauty and receives many visitors. The only negative I saw was the small makeshift shops from the vendors near the chapel that spoiled the image of the landscape. There could be small uniform shops in a row made of wood or some material that would fit the landscape.

Monastery

Sights & Landmarks

The Hosios Loukas Holy Monastery is a magnificent Byzantine-style religious complex established in the 11th century. It is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and situated between the towns of Distomo and Kyriaki, about 23km southeast of Arahova. The monastery comprises two churches, including the principal church that houses some of Greece's most exceptional frescoes from the Byzantine era. Visitors are expected to dress modestly (no shorts).

Amazing exemple of Byzantine culture and religion. Now we can see not only perfect wall frescoes and mosaic from X cent., but also olives maschine, monastic garden, cells, cemetery. The place of cult of St Luka of Steira from IX/X cent.

LB L — Google review

Amazing to visit and explore this great example of Byzantine orthodox architecture. The setup is good and allows an easy flow around the site. Some aspects are closed off for repair/restoration after the fire (which has scarred the surrounding terrain) but this doesn't diminish the value of visiting the site.

Anthony S — Google review

Roughly 40 minutes drive from Delphi.Worth a visit for the lovely mosaics and murals and the amazing views. But a number of areas that seemed like they normally would be open were closed off. Admission appeared to be free unless you wanted to visit the museum building, we paid to be nice (only 4 euros each) but skipped it since we were short on time. There’s a small snack and museum shop on site.

We saw this monastery a few days after the area had been ravaged by wildfires. The air still smells of the burning. The monastery was saved but some side buildings were burnt as the fire came to the very edge of the ancient property on Mount Parnassus from the 11th century (modern by Greek standards). We loved the church and the artwork across the property. It has an amazing history and contains the tomb of the founder, now Saint Luke. Great gift shop.

Rhicke J — Google review

Neat little monastery to check out. I would have loved more information on the saint it is dedicated to, but a beautiful place.

The first octagonal byzantine church with combined with a complex of churches and crypts and extraordinary mosaics. The church is included in the catalogue of Unesco. Amazing views, tranquil environment and amazing people

A true highlight of the day trip to Delphi. If you are on an organized tour, make sure they allot at least an hour to view everything.

Peace and Beauty. Absolutely a marvelous holy place, quiet and serene with amazing views and lovely people. I was so welcomed at mass, the locals noted my quiet awe at where they worshipped that after mass a local walked me to the icons the resting place of thier Saint and despite a language barrier I knew and she conveyed the special place this was. Thank you Greece, I arrived a guest and left like family.

Great stop on your way to Delphis. Stop for a visit at a very nice untouched place. Recomend to look at their open days and hours. The road is good and you can also eat a lunch at their local shop. Nice staff and a beautiful place to visit. It was very hot on the day we were day but we really liked it. Enjoy your visit looking over the montains and olive trees. Try they´re local pistachios.

Spectacular Monastery in the mountains. Very glad I added it as a stop o. My road trip

CJ J — Google review

Sublime and well preserved monastery, with breathtaking view over the olive trees landscape. My tips :*/ better visit at the end of day, when the sunlight is warmer and fewer visitors on site*/ don’t forget to visit the “olive press” part, a bit hidden at the end of the visit

Louis-Philippe M — Google review

We visited Hosios Loukas from Meteora on our way to Athens. Located near the town of Distomo, it is a nice stopover although the road condition was not always good. This is definitely a scenic monastery in the valley, and I saw l lots of olive trees and grapes on the way. The ticket is just 2 euros, but you definitely need your own car to come all the way here.

Eric J — Google review

Beautiful place, an amazing church, almost like Agia Sophia in Istanbul. The mosaics are wonderful with gold from Ravena.I would have like more time to explore the monastery. Well worth the visit, even if not the religious kind to appreciate the architecture.

Sights & Landmarks

The Ancient Mycenae is an ancient Greek archaeological site that dates back to the 12th century BC. It is located in the barren foothills of Mt Agios Ilias and Mt Zara, and it includes remains of an acropolis, palace, and tomb. This kingdom was a dominant force in Greece for over 400 years (1600-1200 BC) and exerted influence over other Mycenaean kingdoms.

I fell in love with this place; I went twice in 2 days!So much to see, any historian or otherwise would be enchanted. The artifacts and premises are kept exceptionally well, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.I would love to return one day, God willing!

Sotiria T — Google review

Beautiful site: the museum has all the information and great objects; the site itself is large and you can walk through the ruins. It costs €12 which includes another site nearby (a must see as well). It is not wheelchair accessible and you need proper trainers to walk around. The surrounding hills / mountains create a fantastic landscape.

Laura P — Google review

Without any advance information about what you'll see, one could be disappointed. A rocky outcrop, big walls, a cool gateway. That's what you'll come away with...But do a little bit of googling about the Mycenaeans and the treasure that was found here you appreciate it all the better.Maybe visit the on-site museum first. Finally, everyone on a Greek Tour goes here so be prepared for crowds at certain times of the day.

Marcus L — Google review

Breathtaking! So, I decided to pay the King and Queen a visit. Had a couple issues to discuss, but by the time I got to the top, totally forgot what was on my mind. Just looking at the views and trying to imagine the days of bygone years. A definite must see!

Sandra Y — Google review

We are frequent travelers and have never visited a place quite like this one. Giant stones, prehistoric, burial chambers, and even an ancient cistern that still holds water, all from before Athens was even established. Plan on spending at least two hours here in order to explore all the impressive areas and museum of antiquities.

Becky M — Google review

It is very difficult to find words to describe the emotions this place evokes. To walk around the ancient Acropolis of Mycenae meant walking in the footsteps of my ancestors and admire what they had achieved. The route around the ruins took about an hour and each location had an information board describing what each building was. The views of the valley were breathtaking, and the tombs along with the Lion Gate were awe-inspiring.

Evelyn M — Google review

This was one of the unexpected delights of our trip in Greece. I was not aware of this archaeological site prior to visiting, but it ended up being my favorite. The tomb is breathtaking due to its sheer scale and level of preservation. The rest of the site is on a steep hill, which was very windy when we visited. The views are amazing and the ancient site is very interesting. I recommend visiting with a guide.

Corey S — Google review

Lovely historical site. Especially good with a licensed guide. Museum is fantastic! The site is wonderful but there could be better markings as to where you are on the site so you know how to get back to the museum. Especially if you have a time constraint.

Matthew L — Google review

Mycenae deserve a visit, the city is on top on a hill and what is still visible of the walls is impressive. You buy an unique ticket for the Museum, Agamemnon's tomb and the city. Beautiful.

Graziano C — Google review

The Archaeological Site of Mycenae is breathtaking! It is locacated in northeast Peloponnese, Greece. We climbed all the way to the top, and the view was spectacular! I highly recommend a visit to this place.

Mary E — Google review

Breathtaking to walk the halls of Agamemnon and the house of Atreus. You can feel the epic of Homer here. The ruins are in pretty remarkable shape and well labeled. The site has a museum in walking distance. One thing I higjly recommend is to go to the center of the two tholos style tombs (Atreus and Lion). The acoustics are amazing.

Jason D — Google review

Very enjoyable trip to famous historical site. Probably 1-2 hours needed. Great views both is the site itself and also the surrounding area. The place wasn't too busy, although we had to wait a few minutes for a parking space. Bring plenty of water as we couldn't find a water fountain on site, although there was a small shop selling drinks.

Mark W — Google review

We came here as part of a tour group, taking us through the museum and giving us more context to the ruins. To think that we are looking at over 3,000 years of history is amazing. I would recommend exploring the museum and taking your time to appreciate the ruins and check out the north side, and not just rush through the main parts

Laurence B — Google review

Great experience. Both the archaeological site and the museum deserve a visit. The Lion gate is somewhat emotional.

Roberto V — Google review

They have a pensioner discount. Wear comfy shoes. The sit is spread out so be prepared to walk, but it's worth it. Bring some water with you.

Shahieda S — Google review

Located on the hills with sharp sunshine in a hot day. Since it located in a remote area, needed to consider 1 – 2 hours to visit the site properly, it made me a bit tired, considering driving back to the city. Luckily had convenient shoes for climbing on soil and stones. Site included a museum, and staff were nice. Beside each section, proper information was provided which I liked. If planning to see the site, don’t forget memorial picture under Lion Gate.

Nima M — Google review

This was a surprise trip for my group while heading to Athens. It was worth it! Be sure to get a local guide bc there is so much to learn, and otherwise you won't know what you're looking at. The climb wasn't bad and the views from the top were worth it. 360 views of Greece, and a little peak of the sea.

Ashlee H — Google review

Thoroughly destroyed.but the view was really beautiful and peaceful. Fairly easy to climb up the mountain. There is a small museum next to the archeological site with ancient pots, jewelry, etc. I enjoyed it a lot.

Veronica W — Google review

One of the most impressive archeological sites out there. The glory days of this place were more than 3000 years ago, yet this place makes these times come alive. Marvel at the wonders of the architecture, but also take in the simpleness of it all. These are the scales of things one should be imagining when reading Homer.Truly fascinating place

Floris H — Google review

Must-visit site in Greece. Amazing location, ruins and history. Knowledge of Mycenaean mythology (Homer’s Illiad) is a plus. Consider a guide. Avoid the heat. Don’t miss the rich museum. I went four times so far …

Johan — Google review

Another incredible site to experience while on vacation in Greece. So much history and just mind blowing the age of the site and items. Worth a visit for sure.

Chad L — Google review

Very amazing archeological site. Highly recommend it. The history of the area are explained on informational signs. It was very hot when we were here mid May. You need lots of water and a hat and sunscreen if you are here July / August. There are lots of stairs and uneven paths so not particularly wheel chair friendly. Museums is on the same site and wasn’t air conditioned when we were there. As in many areas there are lots of stray cats. They need a country wide spay neuter release program as throughout Greece it was disturbing to see injured, sick and starving cats. We brought a bag of cat food purchased in Athens to feed strays.

Kevin E — Google review

Fascinating place to visit especially if you've seen the treasures in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. Wear decent shoes and a hat as it's on a hillside with no shade. Tomb of Clytemnestra was quite eerie, more so than the larger tomb of Agamemnon a bit further down the road.

Wendy M — Google review

A wondrous visit to Mycenae. Took a touch coach (all day). This was the third and last location. A wonderful walk and history. Well worth the visit. Make sure to listen to the stories from your tour guide.

Dante R — Google review

Magnificent Mycenae Palace, the unique entrance of the lions, the tomps, the museum. The only problem was that in wintertime, the opening hour is till 15:30 even in Google was written till 20:00. We mentioned that in the ticket office that they had to make the correction since we did not have enough time to visit all.

Aga K — Google review

A very interesting place. Lots of history. Not too much in the museum but the archaeological site is very cool. Be prepared to climb a lot.

Steve B — Google review

On a sunny spring weekend, it is fantastic to take a walk in this scenic World Heritage Site. The museum is another great reason to visit too.

Amy W — Google review

Fantastic and extensive ruins with some parts dating back 5,000 years and a must see in the Nafplio area. Informative signage throughout in Greek and English make the visit much more interesting. Some parts of the site are accessible for mobility impaired but not all. Interesting trails below the citadel lead to beehive tombs-- don't miss these! The museum on the same grounds hold the collections taken from the excavations and gives context to the visit. Don't miss it. Be aware this is a stop on many tourist itineraries and it can be crowded with tour groups.

Ancient Corinth is a well-preserved archaeological site that offers a glimpse into the Roman city's history. The remains include temples, fountains, theaters, and ornate columns that stand as a testament to ancient Greek architectural skill. The Temple of Apollo is particularly picturesque with its fluted columns surrounded by wildflowers and mountain peaks in the background. Nearby attractions such as the Medieval Castle of Acrocorinth and Ancient Nemea offer additional historical exploration.

Don't miss this place when visiting the area! The beautiful ancient, witch was one of the more important ones from history, along with the amazing museum really teach you a lot about ancient Greece. It's absolutely amazing how the giant pillars and the statues managed to survive so long! Sadly, I was in a rush and only managed to visit the central area, where the museum is so I will definitely visit this place again!

Ded M — Google review

Such an amazing place to visit. Definitely worth a visit. A tour is beneficial as they have lots of history to share. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because the customer service is horrible. They were extremely rude to us and I think us being from the US didn't help.

Erica S — Google review

Incredible place of history. Easy to park and view. Go early to beat heat. See museum second to cool down. Incredible much is in tact. Recommended.

Christine H — Google review

Compared to other sites in Athens, you will be able to enjoy these ruins without crowds or hurry. The backdrop of the surrounding hills is gorgeous and food, gelato, and tourist shopping is just outside the gate. Plenty of parking available.

Ai B — Google review

This is an amazing site rich in classic Greek history, especially the stories about the commerce, the development and the life including the open attitudes towards sexual relations. It is hard to imagine the sophisticated lifestyle that flourished when other civilizations were still in the stone age.The museum is larger than it looks, and the site is large. Plan on a couple of hours. Note there is only one male and one female restroom so plan accordingly.

Rhicke J — Google review

Well preserved archeological site with a museum on site. Many a great have walked these paths in ancient history and we get see some of the remnants. The site is fairly well laid out and easy to navigate. There is a small museum on site where you can escape the sun in case it gets too hot. There’s a lot to admire about this place. It is a bit cut off so transportation without a car may have to be planned meticulously. The views from the grounds are stunning especially on a clear sunny day.And don’t forget to visit the Acropolis which is free and also nearby.

Legends L — Google review

The ruins are beautiful and there is a peaceful atmosphere. However the customer service is horrible. I wanted to take a picture of some friends standing infront of something. But this woman had to burst my eardrums with her whistle, saying that this is not allowed. While she could have just gone to me explaining the situation. So beware of grumpy women with whistles behind you.

Ryan E — Google review

Great site with well preserved ruins and pieces of archeological significance for a 10€ charge. The grounds are not too large to be overwhelming but there is enough to see to require 1-2 hours. We went in the evening and saw the sunset over the temples and columns which added to the experience. If you have interest in the biblical or historical roots of Greece, this is a must see.

Tyler H — Google review

Amazing, amazing site with such historical connections to big names in the Bible. Even if you aren’t religious, you are struck with the idea that such massive figures in our history were here. The buildings and intricate carvings (decoration) on the stone are in great shape.

LC — Google review

Cannot say enough about this place. I enjoyed the museum and walking around on my own taking time to read almost every plaque. Next time I will pay for a tour though I’ve since learned the tours are excellent.

Ronda H — Google review

Absolutely Amazing ! If you are in the Athens are. its only a short 1 hour drive away, We hired a car from the hotel and arrived late morning (beat the heat) to see a gorgeous valley that has a castle like fortress overlooking the ruins . We self guided the site and took hundreds of photos of all the unbelievable artifacts but on hind site would definitely hire a guide for the a full historical experience , truly a must see.

Skylined 1 — Google review

Corinth is a site that is not over crowded and serves as a great look into Biblical history. Take your time to read the different historical information stations to learn what you are looking at. I highly recommend using a guide at this site to get all the insight from the area. It is absolutely breathtaking.

Kyle C — Google review

This is an excellent exhibit of ruins. They have an outdoor area with tons to see. And there are signs and a walking path to inform and direct. Moreover, they have an indoor museum which I found amazing. Many artifacts and informative signs.

Marshall D — Google review

Beautiful archaeological site with a small but interesting museum. The tickets will give you access to both the museum and the site. Do stop by the Temple of Apollo and notice the single-piece Doric columns. Also, if you're interested in the history of the New Testament, there's a place where St. Paul likely stood when facing the local governor. Plus, if you notice the Acrocorinth in the background, keep in mind that it used to house a Temple of Aphrodite in Paul's times. It was basically a house of pleasure and supposedly employed up to 2000 priestesses. It gives a lot of context to Paul's letter to the Corinthians, especially the passages regarding the nature of love.

Michal Š — Google review

Excellent museum and site. It is particularly of interest to students of the Book of Acts and the letters of Paul since he spent much time starting and building a congregation here. Interesting aspects of burial customs on display and explained.

David B — Google review

One of the top Classical Greek archaeological sites in Greece. Large and diverse. It also has a small but interesting museum though not as spectacular as many others. Still worth visiting.

Jeremy K — Google review

Nice historical place to see. The museum is also good and should be visited. Use the parking area before coming up the hill. There are more parking slots available near the entrance, but the exit is away from the entrance so the way is shorter using the first parking area.

Rene S — Google review

Very few visitors (can be because of the 40+ °C temperatures). Very large and beautiful excavation site. The only star deduction: not everything was allowed to be photographed in the museum...

Ramon S — Google review

A very beautiful historical place of birth and spread of Christianity. Happy to visit where the ancient Greeks read the letters of the apostles.

Oleksii H — Google review

Here we prove the truth of the Bible. Erastus name appears engraved in marble as proconsul I think? He was wealthy and was an early Christian convert and mentioned in the letters of Apostle Paul 3 times. The ancient ruins ant the bema before which Apostle Paul was dragged by the Jews before Gallio are there. Highly recommended.

Andrew H — Google review

Wonderful site! The ruins and the museum are both interesting, and the landscape around is impressive.

Benoît L — Google review

Corinth is an important ancient city, so it needs to be on your must visit list. The museum has some interesting finds.

Todd M — Google review

Neat place to visit with a museum on site to give you a glimpse of history. Be aware, Ancient Corinth is actually quite small, in fact, a bit underwhelming. Beat the tour busses and opt for a private or small tour. Big busses make predictable stops at tout traps along the way. Not much to see in or around this spot but worth a visit to see where the Apostle Paul had influence.

Tieshia M — Google review

U get free entry as an EU residence card holder under 25, absolutely worth a visit

Annika S — Google review

Nice place, but not that impressive after seeing much better ones around, especially in Athens. I believe the entrance fee is 8€, but you can see a lot without even getting in.

Dragutin C — Google review

Recommend visiting! Not as well kept as the Acropolis but worth the visit

Brad J — Google review

A wonderful day trip away from the crowded Athens. There are several sites in the area that you can visit but must have a car ,as without is quute challenging to visit.

Tibi N — Google review

A must see for enthusiasts of the Roman empire, crossroads of Macedonia and Achaia, and the Adriatic and Aegean seas. With nothing labeled, a good guide is helpful.

Lots of ruins, many well-preserved structures, arguably better than the Athenian agora. Spend about 45 mins here in your visit to Corinth.

Sights & Landmarks

Castle

This imposing Venetian-built fortress is a popular tourist destination with amazing views of the Argolic Gulf. It was used as a fortress and prison by successive rulers, but is now one of the town's main attractions with its iconic interlocking bastions that you can walk along. The fortress can be reached either by steep ascent on foot or a short drive from the town.

Visited early on a February morning (8:30) open time and there were only a couple of other people in the whole complex.Admission is 4.50 winterWe drove up but you can also climb about 900 stairs to the top.Great views of Nafplio and the super yacht Maltese Falcon.

Brian H — Google review

Amazing place. We walked through the +\- 1000 stairs from the city to the fortress and it has been a great hike for us and our son (6yo).Stunning views and interesting building construction on top. Highly recommended!

Alessandro B — Google review

We recently visited Greece and had the amazing opportunity to explore this magnificent fortress. The views were spectacular from every angle. The architecture was phenomenal. Highly recommend adding this to must sees!

Rhonda R — Google review

Very nice Venetian fortress. The views are wonderful. Of course it's a bit of a hike up but nothing too strenuous. I liked Nafplion very much but my wife wouldn't get off the cruise boat after what we went through in Athens.

Michael B — Google review

Very very windy. The surfaces are uneven so wear appropriate footwear and take your time. The view from this vantage point is incredible and definitely worth however you travel wether by the 999 steps up or by bus. I took the bus... 😂

Michael H — Google review

Astounding fortress, perched on the top of the hill overlooking the town. Quite large site and well worth the 8euro entrance. Wear good shoes with strong soles as a lot of uneven and slippery stones. Views are amazing.

Ian F — Google review

Visited March 31st. The spring has bloomed. Flowers everywhere. Purple and red colors. The climb to the top was difficult since my sister and myself are not the fittest people on earth. But the climb was WORTH IT. Views are to die for. Highly recommend. Tickets are €4 up until March 31st and after that beginning April 1st they are €8. Pricey tickets but worth it. We were tired by the time we climbed up so we took a taxi back down to our hotel. Taxi costs €10.

Sarah Z — Google review

A very impressive fortress includes eight structures at 2000 meters above sea level. Beautiful views over Nafplio city and the sea. Wonderful arches framing blue water views. Possibility to go down by a thousand steps that get you back to the town.

Sophie D — Google review

This venetian fortress is a very nice place to explore. You can access it by car or by foot, but be aware that if you want to go by foot, be prepared to climb 999 stairs (this is the local saying, I would say that is even more 😅). The view from the stairs is amazing

Tales P — Google review

🏰 Fortress of Palamidi 🌄What an awe-inspiring fortress! The Fortress of Palamidi perched high above Nafplio offers breathtaking views of the town and the sea. Its impressive architecture and historical significance make it a must-visit destination for history buffs like myself. The climb up the steep steps was well worth the effort as I explored the various bastions and enjoyed the panoramic vistas. The rich history and well-preserved structure make this place a captivating experience. If you're in Nafplio, don't miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in this magnificent piece of Greek history. Highly recommended!

Gabe B — Google review

The fortress and views of the area are worth every step of the 900 you take should you choose to make the walk. It took us around 35 minutes (with a couple stops) to make it to the top, and we got to the entrance around 10:00 AM. The timing was perfect, as there was almost no one on the stairs with us, and the fortress itself was not crowded either. This is a can't miss spot in Nafplio, just go early in the morning or closer to sunset.

Arun R — Google review

Actually the best view of ancient ruins I found in Greece. Even Acropolis didn’t do it. Views on the see are mesmerizing. But it doesn’t look like smth Greece - more like English. And it is huge

Vladyslav B — Google review

Fortress is in very good conditions and really beautiful. Equally beautiful is also view from above. Approach is pretty hard, but can be a good training. There are around thousand steps from the western side. From the eastern side approach is a little bit easier but longer. Also from the eastern side is possible come by car.

Nenad P — Google review

A large fortress on top of the highest point in the area, with fantastic and commanding views of the whole area. It gets very busy at weekends, especially just after the schools break up. You have to be physically able to attempt the climb up the stairs. The alternative is the road entrance although parking is limited.

Derric H — Google review

A very well preserved fortress from the 17th century accessible by walk but I would recommend taxi. You need at least 2 hours to walk around. Splendid view on the town of Navplio below.

Velimir S — Google review

This great archeological sight showcases both great architecture and the jail cell of a man who participated in the Greek war for independence. It's a great place to visit if you are staying in Nafplio. I spent quite a long time here, looking at every crevice and the picturesque view. It would have been quite a great idea to explain the cell and the general fortress in a better way. For example to show the history of it and the events that took place there. Sure there were some signs but they did not specify anything.

Nikos — Google review

If you are visiting Nafplio, I wouldn't miss visiting the Fortress. My girlfriend, our 12 year old daughter and I were here and spent roughly 3 hours exploring and we had a very nice and tiring time. Be prepared to duck, crouch and thoroughly enjoy yourself. Beautiful surroundings and it wasn't crowded at all.

Brian M — Google review

We did NOT walk the stairs! Used the parking lot ( 😊). Very interesting spot to visit, great views as well. Make sure to visit the cell ( maybe not if you’re claustrophobic ).

Randy G — Google review

Beautiful fortress with a really nice view! If you stay in Napflio this is really worth it to visit. The fortress contains of multiple sections with some quarters where soldiers slept and also a cell block. It has also some stunning views on the city of Napflio. You can definitely spent here some hours before going back to Napflio or the beach. It can be hot though in the summer.

Kevin S — Google review

Walking the 950+ stairs is a challenge and dangerous in parts. But the rewards are many with an ice cold water fountain at the ticket booth and some stunning views. The site itself is brilliant. Very large and again some very dangerous areas where you could plunge to your death but with care and being sensible, climbing over this structure and reading its history is brilliant.

G M — Google review

Palamidi is an impressive fort above Nafplio with outstanding views. Be aware that it's around 1000 steps(!) to the very top up the stairway. It's quite expensive to get in though, the ticket office is at the top and it's E8 per person (kids under 18 free, and also discounts for 18-25s from EU countries). There's a prison cell and a small church at the top, along with a small cafe and toilets. Worth it for the views, but only just. If you want to save some cash you can just hike 2/3 of the way up the stairs and enjoy the view... But do it before midday when the sun starts shining on the stairway...

Stephen P — Google review

Amazing place of history. An expansive site. Views to die for. We arrived by car. Not a lot of parking available but lucky it was the off season (early October). I did notice that there was a open top hop on hop off bus that probably came from Napflion. Would probably be the best option in peak season instead of the 99 steps or drive.

Lynette B — Google review

Amazing views and worth visiting for a trip to Nafplio. Not too busy around midday at the end of April time. Worth the hike to see the best vistas of the Peloponnese and it’s not a hard walk for all ages, lots of places to stop.

Victoria F — Google review

Nice hike (steps) to the rear gate of the fortress (fortress closed after hours) with a gorgeous view of the promontory, Nafplio's old town. The sunset is breath taking!

Huihua C — Google review

Make sure you have a good pair of hiking shoes on before you take the 900 step stairs from the town centre, definitely worth it.

Tim H — Google review

Loved visiting the castle during our stay in Nafplio. We did not climb the steps we were able to drive up. It would have been nice to have more information on the castle but definitely worth a visit, stunning views

Ginger H — Google review

A more recent fortress than all the other archeological sites nearby. It has nice views and is well maintained. Not sure how crowded it is in a more touristic season, but when we went in January it was ideal.

Canal

Nature & Parks

The Corinth Canal is a remarkable achievement of engineering spanning several centuries. Conceived by an Ancient Corinth ruler, started by Roman emperor Nero, and finished in the 19th century by the French, it's over 6km long and 23m wide with vertical sides towering over 90m above water. The canal played a significant role in elevating Piraeus' status as a prominent Mediterranean port.

I think it is one of the must-see locations on the way to Nafplio. The canal was built in late 1800s. However, as far as ı read, a landslides was occurred in the slopes of the canal. The Greek government decided to remove the debris and re-open the canal in 2021. however, we visited the canal in April 2022 and it was still closed to ship traffic.

What a must-see engineering gem! Everybody should sail the Corinth Canal at least once in their lives!

G T — Google review

It is literally what you see in the photos, a four mile long canal with extremely high, steep sided sides but you can only marvel at how it was constructed in an era without the modern machinery of today. Well worth the visit.

A masterpiece of man, with great vision

Minh P — Google review

I think this is a must see. The canal is long and narrow with beautiful tall cliffs on either side. The water is a strikingly beautiful blue when the sun directly hits it. You can watch boats make their way through the canal. It is about an hour drive from Athens airport, but it is a cool way to see the Greek countryside. There is a bungee jump there called Zulu Bungee which I highly recommend. You can even go there and watch other people jump from the viewing area above. There is ample paking and a bridge that you. an also walk out on to see the canal better. Also there is a nicely maintained restroom across the street.

Fantastic feat of engineering. Beyond taking a couple of photos and admiring the excavation there's not much to do. But we'll worth a 15 minute stop.

The Corinth Canal is a man-made canal in Greece, that connects the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, arguably making the peninsula an island. The canal was dug through the isthmus at sea level and has no locks. It is 6.4 kilometers (4 mi) in length and only 21.4 meters (70 ft) wide at its base, making it impassable for many modern ships. It is currently of little economic importance becoming mainly a tourist attraction.

RAVINDRA S — Google review

Very beautiful view of the canal and is impressive.

Canal under constructionin1882.It looks like this today.

Vlado S — Google review

The canal was initially proposed in classical times and a failed effort was made to build it in the 1st century AD.[4] Construction recommenced in 1881 but was hampered by geological and financial problems that bankrupted the original builders. It was completed in 1893, but, due to the canal's narrowness, navigational problems, and aperiodic closures to repair landslides from its steep walls, it failed to attract the level of traffic expected by its operators.

Please do not make the mistake of going onto the abandoned train track as this is where Google Maps directions instructs. Views are breathtaking.

The Corinth Canal is impressive. Despite the high price for crossing the canal, it is worth doing it, the memory stays for life.

Ben R — Google review

This spot is not easy to get to, there are no proper road and have to drive through mud road. So be prepared if you want to get here. The view aren’t that magnificent as well. I would suggest taking a look at it from one of the bridges and passes the canal. However if you would still come to this spot, I have attached some pictures that hopefully will help you find the entrance which is next to the petrol station - as you can see no proper road. Safe trip!

Ken Y — Google review

For a 19th century canal, it is impressive. But not quite my thing. You can also do a bunging jumping from the bridge. The area itself did not have much to do.It is probably something you do because is near somewhere else you're visiting. We were going to Temple of Hera and this was on the way. There were some suffering stray cats too, so a bit heartbreaking. Please bring something for the lil kitties if you visit.

Iva R — Google review

Must see this land mark and ow vast it is!Never in my life did I think I would jump off a bridge but I’m so glad I did there.Amazing and would 100% go back here.

Lauren J — Google review

Loved this boat ride down the canal. The bridge goes down into the water and the boats go over it and down the straight canal to the other end. Very relaxing and nice boat ride. You get to see both ends of the canal and then turn around and go back. There is a tribute to Nero who started the project at the one end on the Corinth side.

Tolo Beach is a sandy beach with crystal blue and warm waters. What distinguishes this beach from others is the presence of restaurants that offer tables and chairs right by the water, allowing visitors to enjoy delicious food while taking in the beautiful view. This makes it an attractive option for those who don't want to spend their day lounging on a chair or towel.

Really nice Beach with Crystal clear shallow waters and a good small selection of beach bars and restaurants near by. We really had an enjoyable time here and would definitely return again.

VoudouLounge — Google review

The beach is sandy and the water is not cold. The sea 🌊 is clean and good for little children because it's not deep. In the morning the water is calm, the afternoons are little windy with some waves. Nice place if you don't mind the crowd. The set of umbrella and sunbeds costs 10 euro without consuming drinks. I don't like that there aren't toilets only eco ones which are disgusting.

Eleonora A — Google review

An excellent beach for relaxing with children under 4 years of age is ideal because of a small uniform approach to the sea, sand. Taverns are monotonous, it's a minus, two supermarkets with adequate prices. For families with children, Tolo resort is definitely recommended.

Beautiful sandy beach, great for children. Water is clean, shallow and very warm. The beach at enterance of vilage is not covered with umbrelas and sunbeds. It is for public use, but clean, with shower and changing cabin. A large parking with plenty of space is just above the beach.Next to it is a larger part of the beach with sunbeds and umbrellas, which is charged 10e per day (umbrela+2 sunbeds). The part of the beach below the hotels is quite narrow, not so nice. There are plenty of cheap with great food.

Branislav B — Google review

Besides the warm water there is nothing. The entire village, because its not a city, is under construction. There is dust everywhere, trash bins are missing, people are not very friendly. There are NO parking spaces!! There are lots of places better than this in Greece. Not every village is meant to be a tourist resort.

History Museums

The Archaeological Museum of the Asclepieion of Epidaurus is a small museum located inside a splendid Venetian building. It showcases the social development of Argolis, from ancient hunter-gatherers to more recent times. The museum houses findings from the surrounding sites, including the spectacular ruins of an enormous theater that is still in use today. This marvel of ancient engineering can hold up to 14,000 people and is renowned for its almost perfect acoustics.

Very small but worth checking out to make the 12€ ticket to Epidavros worth it.Amazing stones with scriptures and beautiful statues.

Nico B — Google review

Very small museum with little/confusing information. The first room is probably the most interesting where the ancient medical tools are displayed, along with giant stone tablets on health care during that time.

Julie P — Google review

Epidaurus is an ancient ancient sanatorium and sanctuary of the ancient god Asclepius (Roman Aesculapius). It is known for its open-air theater with outstanding acoustics, the largest in Greece. The museum is small and houses the findings of the surrounding sites.

The museum is realy small and highly neglected. It's collection has been plundered from the national museum in Athens leaving mostly replicas behind. Its exhibition is very old fashioned and a bit confusing. The museum collection has some great building parts from the roofs of the ancient temples of the area that are really impressive. But although the museum has its problems the archaeological site is one of the top sites in Greece. The ancient theatre is huge and well preserved (athens theater festival is hosted every summer there). And the remains of the buildings and the temples are really interesting and nicely presented. An UNESCO world heritage siteEntrance 12€ and 6€ reduced ticket. Under 18 and eu students for free

Historical landmark

Sights & Landmarks

The amphitheater at the Asclepieion of Epidaurus, constructed in 340 BCE and made from limestone, is one of the best-preserved Classical Greek structures still standing. It boasts exceptional acoustics; even a dropped coin in its centre can be heard from the highest seat. The theatre accommodates up to 14,000 individuals and features restored Corinthian pilasters flanking its entrance.

This is definitely worth the drive from Athens. In fact, the drive was one of the highlights. The scenery along the way is beautiful. The theater itself is impressive and so are the surrounding ruins. You can see that there have been attempts to reconstruct some of the buildings but it doesn't look like any progress has been made in some time.

Andrew — Google review

Incredible site. Larger in size than Ancient Mycenae, and the restored theater is fabulous. Stroll the full grounds to see layers of history. Good signage with descriptions in both Greek and English. The small Museum is also worth a look. They have the only (?) fully preserved capital of a pillar on display there.

Andy S — Google review

Fantastic and so well-preserved. If you are able, climb to the top and sit in the shade of the trees. It is cool, quiet (though this was in late May, not sure how it would be in high season) and you really get to experience how fantastic the acoustics are, as you can hear so much of what is said at the bottom. Museum and ruins are worth a visit too; on the same site and included in ticket price.

Lynn T — Google review

It is difficult to believe such a well designed was built in the 4th century BC. The sound quality is amazing, so easy to hear from the top. This is a treasure. The museum is not really worth the time. The hospital is also a site that needs guidance to paint the picture. If you are short on time, head to the amphitheatre.

Rhicke J — Google review

It has natural fantastic acoustics. If you come in a group, split in two. One satying in orchestra ring at the bottom an other half i a top row to feel it. And bear in mind how long ago it was built.

Tomek I — Google review

It is a marvel of ancient engineering and artistic achievement. With its impeccable acoustics and stunning architecture, it offers an unparalleled theatrical experience that transports visitors back in time. Surrounded by lush greenery and steeped in history, this magnificent amphitheater is not only a testament to the ingenuity of the ancient Greeks but also a source of inspiration and awe for all who have the privilege of witnessing its splendor. A visit to this historic site promises to be an unforgettable journey into the heart of classical Greece, where the arts flourished and the spirit of innovation thrived.

Jafu P — Google review

It is rich in history and very well preserved. Ideal for the active person as a lot of walking is involved. With the new audio app available at a reasonable price make the whole experience much better.

Jamie S — Google review

What a great view. This place is amazing. Can't believe over 2400 years old. Take time to walk up and admire the view from atop. The acoustics are so good. One can stand at center and be heard from the last row.

David C — Google review

Pretty surprising this place is still being used today. Especially since it was built in the 4th Century BC. The acoustics are amazing and Tara spoke in a normal tone of voice and I could hear her on the top row. There's also a pretty good museum on site.

Rick A — Google review

Initially lots of antique rocks, but when you visit it you stay speechless, because it's huge and the way it's built gives very good acoustic even to the highest row of the amphitheatre. There's good infrastructure for parking and good tables with information.

Haralambi K — Google review

The stadium was built over 2400 years ago, but it is very well maintained. I sit at the top of the stadium and can hear people talking and laughing around the keystone and inside the circle. Try clapping your hands as you walk around different parts of the circle. The sound effect is amazing.

Amy W — Google review

Amazing theater that is a must visit archeological site in Greece. We were amazed by the acoustics of theater and the ruins in the area. Definitely worth climbing to the top and sitting to listen to the people at the lower level of the theater

Excellent place. Easy spent a couple of hours around the site as its quite large. We spent most of our time at the ancient theatre. Very well preserved and looked after. Great sat at the top looking down on the stage imagining being there 2500 years ago!Definitely worth visiting.

Vin V — Google review

I have no words to describe this place.. it is my favorite of all the ancient archaeological sites!! The site the views the history of healing and ‘sleep’ you have to feel it for yourself and I can only highly recommend the trip !!

Silke W — Google review

Impressive Theatre that takes you back in time!Fully recommend!!!The acoustics are excellent. This is one of the few remaining ancient amphitheaters in existence and probably the best preserved. If you are lucky and get to watch a performance there, you will feel the magical atmosphere, as you make the time travel thousands of years ago.A must see in this areaFrom Athens is a 2 hour drive, my recommendation is after this experience to go to Nafplio, it’s a 45 minute drive from there. It’s enchanting, worth staying one or two days there also.

Evangelia I — Google review

Fascinating ancient amphitheater that has the best acoustics in the world which are still not fully understood - limestone, channels in seating, positioning in the hillside, other contributing factors… plus the site still hosts live theater & music every summer! It’s fun to try it out yourself; stand in the center of the stage and whisper a message- it will be heard clearly at the top row. Added bonus is the small but interesting museum with artifacts found on the site including a World Heritage site of ancient medicine.

Christine W — Google review

This site is well worth a visit. The theatre is particularly special, such an amazingly well restored site. The staff we spoke with so informative and friendly and had great knowledge. If you're in the Peloponnese, you MUST visit ..spectacular.

Livvy D — Google review

Jeannette O — Google review

this place is simply amazing! It was worth the visit although the ladies from the gates did not allow us to go in with a plastic glass of granita. there are trash bins inside but this is happening when you impose rules on customers and you are not able to justify the reason behind.

Bogdan V — Google review

The theatre as an archaeological site is definitely worth the traveler’s attention. A magnificent piece of architecture and acoustics still holds performances in the summer. The museum is small but you can get all the information needed to understand the function of the site as a whole.Apart from the theatre there was a complex with various buildings, including temples and sanctuaries, dorms, baths, a stadium and of course the temple of Asclepius where people received treatment through the process of enkoimesis. You can also enjoy the nature around the site with all its peace and tranquility. There is a museum shop and a cafe as well.

S G — Google review

I was here for a short time in may before lunch time. The people here were excited at the theatre and so was I. I spent 1h but would prefer 2h to have more time sitting in the theatre and seeing the museum.

Alexander Y — Google review

A great historical site that is still used for plays during the summer. The sound protection in the theatre is something I have never seen before in life. A must visit place if you are in the area.

Rahim A — Google review

Very well preserved theatre. It is a spectacle of nature. If you position yourself in the center of the so-called "skenè", in a special circle, you will hear your voice echoing throughout the steps. Absurd. To try and visit. Go there.

Francesco B — Google review

The acoustics are amazing and we look forward to coming back in the summer to watch a live performance. The walk to the theatre was pretty in the spring with all the sweet wildflowers and meadow like scenery to the top (we didn’t take the stairs).

Ioanna B — Google review

We came here just for the theatre but had a fantastic time with the museum and site of the sanctuary of Asclepius too. The theatre's acoustic is remarkable and as excellent as everyone says. It's an experience unlike any other. The museum is small, but packed with interesting items for the history of medicine and close views of some architectural sculpture. The site of the sanctuary of Asclepius has some great way finding signage. The billboards for the individual buildings are not very well designed for non-experts, but the chance to wander through some ancient ruins was excellent. We were charged 12 euros for the whole visit, which is pricier than other local sites but well worth it in my opinion.

Sam H — Google review

Like any Greek theater, this place is magnificent. This is of course my first visit to Greece and this stopover was worth it. Despite the large number of tourists visiting this place, entry is smooth. No more than 5 minutes to get the entrance ticket (it's in October so that's understandable). In 1h30, you can visit the theater and the archaeological site. It's truly magnificent, you go back in time in the blink of an eye. If you go to Greece, take a trip to Epidavros, a calm and quiet town, especially the ancient town.

Sights & Landmarks

The Old Evripos Bridge, also known as the Chalkida Old Bridge, is a charming arched traffic and pedestrian bridge that was constructed in 1962 to connect the island of Evia to mainland Greece. It spans the Euripus Strait and offers stunning views both during the day and at night. The bridge is a popular attraction in Chalkida, offering visitors the opportunity to take leisurely walks along the waterfront esplanade or drive across its expanse.

I'm glad to have seen this old bridge. I walked over this and admired the Island of Evia from the Mainland side. Looking into the sea, the currents are so strong.

Paralia Aponisos is a picturesque pebble beach located in a small cove, offering sheltered swimming and the option to rent loungers. It is part of an exciting day trip itinerary that includes stops at three stunning locations in the Saronic Gulf. Visitors can explore Agistri Island's charming alleyways, relax on its pristine beaches, and immerse themselves in its natural beauty.

What can I say.. This place has everything. Perfect service, variety of beaches depending on what you like(sand, rocks, deep, shallow). This was definitely my favorite beach/place on the island, and I could easily go there every day if I had more time. 10 euro for 2 regular sunbeds and umbrella, plus 2.5 euro if you wish for wooden sunbeds for each one. It also has mini restaurant, and service so it is really good. I recommend it for a whole day relaxation, and there are sightseeings nearby...

One of the most, if not the most, beautiful beaches on Agistri. A hidden gem, and one of the farthest from the port, the crystal clear waters, and the soft sand make it an absolute must to visit. The ruined Doric temple, constructed around 5th-century BC, was dedicated to the Ancient goddess Aphaia. The remarkably preserved remains of this temple are located on a hill covered in pine trees providing an extensive view of the Saronic Gulf. The structure was built in honor of a local deity from a pre-Hellenic era and featured magnificent sculptures depicting the Trojan War on its pediments.

I never get tired of visiting the Temple of Aphaia, one of Aegina island's must see unique attraction that is situated on a hill ... with beautiful views & lots of pine trees ... about 15 km from the islands capital. 👍😊Since prehistoric times ( 1300 B.C.) it's been a place of worship ... a sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Aphaia.😍Next to the temple there is a small archeological museum, the Museum of Aphaia, where parts of the temple are on display. Across from the Temple you will see a simple cafeteria where I've enjoyed some beverages ... that was nice: especially if you are visiting on a hot summer day!

The temple is quite well preserved. You have to pay an entrance fee of 6 euros per person. It is fenced and maintained. It was located on a higher hill overlooking the sea. The scenery is amazing. The temple is in the style of the Panthenon in Athens.

Cristian P — Google review

Stunning views and temple, really well conserved and easy to reach by motorbike or car (there is no option to reach it without them). The price is 6€/person, one of the best places to visit in Argina

Very calm compared with the Athens monuments.. and not much crowded either. Rent a scooter or car, cross through the island and enjoy it.. Overall a nice experience!

Sundar G — Google review

Must visit. Not very crowded, it’s a very well preserved temple, one of the most important ones in this part of Greece too. They had both the Parthenon and Sounion in sight so those three temples used to communicate with each other visually, even though they are dozens of km from each other! Also - visit the cafe for a coffee - they serve a surprisingly good one and the view is stunning!

Wojtek S — Google review

Beautiful temple, well preserved. Easy access, €6 adult ticket, child one - no charge. Close by is a nice coffee shop with a small terrace and gift shop.

Kasia S — Google review

One of the most impressive temples still standing in Greece. The view makes it spectacular

Romain F — Google review

Took the bus tour. It's a long way from the port to the temple. The tour guide did a nice job explaining other places along the way to the temple. The temple is a short walk from the temple parking lot. Once again, the tour guide did a good job explaining the history of the site.

This monument is well preserved and maintained. It’s hard to believe that this temple was from 500 BC.Most of its pillars, structures, inner and outer features are still standing. There’s a shop and cafe close to archeological site you can buy drinks, light finger foods and souvenirs there. The shopping mini complex also has a restroom open to everyone.Parking here is by the side of the road so it is limited.

This temple is pretty well preserved on the Greek island of Aegina. Or at least as much as anything can be at 2000+ years old. The temple is at the top of a mountain, surrounded by a fence and normally cost 6 eu to enter, but ous was already covered. Anyway you can see some real dedication with people quarrying these enormous stones and then of course dragging them up to the top of the highest mountain around. Anyway it's a beautiful site.

Not just another Greek historical site, because even if these places may look alike, each is unique in it's own way and has it's own history worth discovered.

An impressive structure with an outstanding views. it was a nice fast visit with the kids, even that it was a very hot day the area had nice breeze and we enjoyed visiting the temple. The coffee next to it is a must visit.

Tamir K — Google review

Beautiful and very quiet place with breathtaking view on Saronic Gulf, Salamis Island, Piraeus and even Athens.Temple is not so big, but you can see it's built over an earlier temple 2500 years ago.Magic place.

6€ entrance fee. Lovely and a must see when visiting the island.

Sarah V — Google review

This place is like a miniature Acropolis. You pay 3 euros for a ticket here, and in the off-season you can basically wander around on your own. A beautiful view complemented by a piece of history. Below is a parking lot with a small shop and a restaurant with a beautiful view.

Max J — Google review

Beautiful temple ruins with an incredible view of Aegina. We went in late September, and it was not crowded at all; we were able to easily buy tickets at the entrance. There is also a nice little museum by the temple, and there are cute cats all around :)

Kalista — Google review

What an energy this place has! Beautiful ancient temple, worshiping goddess Aphaia. The view from the temple is so clear and the ruins are well preserved. A must visit if you go to Aegina island.

Anastasia R — Google review

Nice Ancient Greek temple, you can get there easily (bus, bike, quad) and the prices are low !The view is simply amazing and the temple well preserved 📟

Donneurdavi O — Google review

6 euros to enter a site that felt a bit abandoned. No disability access. There are quite a few steps to climb up and it felt like they should do a better job with the entrance.

Danai S — Google review

Another beautiful piece of Greek history but not as busy as Athens but very beautiful. Probably the visit will take around one hour but do not forget to visit the museum and also the shop to buy local very tasty pistachios and pistachios 🍦

Sergiu M — Google review

Beautiful temple. The views of the sea were great. The temple itself was impressive.

Ronnie W — Google review

Nice Ancient Greek temple. The view is also amazing. A very nice place for sure.

PERFECT!!! ITS A MUST SEE! 😜LIKE A SMALL ACROPOLIS BUT WITH BETTER VIEW!THE RESULTS OF SMALL MUSEUM WHERE YOU CAN SEE EXCELLENT ANTIQUITIES!

Βασιλης Χ — Google review

Amazing well preserved temple. The last entrance is until 18:15 and the ticket is 3 euros. The view is just stunning and is definitely a must see if you are in the island.

Marios — Google review

Such a lovely experience with my family. Lots of great information and very informative 👍🏻 not very expensive and really beautiful! The views are amazing.

Nikki P — Google review

Very beautiful temple ruins / archaeological site, and the hilltop view of the sea makes the visit pretty satisfying. You can see Agia Marina from this height, since the temple is high up on a slope.Pretty accessible by bus (though it can be quite infrequent). Alternatively, there is taxi or car rental which can make this place much more easy to reach.

Sights & Landmarks

Historic Walking Areas

Paralia Limanaki tis Agapis, also known as Love Bay, is a charming and intimate beach nestled amidst verdant surroundings. The bay's name originates from the 1950s and reflects its secluded and romantic ambiance. With its clear emerald waters and sandy shores shaded by pine trees, it offers a tranquil retreat for couples and those seeking a peaceful environment. The calm sea makes it ideal for leisurely holidays and romantic getaways.

It is a petite cute beach that is excellent for quiet relaxing time. The bay is surrounded by deep vegetation which ensured its privacy. That is how the name came. It is very popular with couples or even people who prefers quiet calm environment. The water is sea green, clear. The sand is a little red to brown but sandy. The bay water is also calm enough, making it a perfect place for holidays and romantic outings. A narrow road surrounds the bay, but there is not much traffic in it. The bay has shower and drinking facilities.

Nice little beach with catch name. The waters look nice from above, but when you get in, you'll realize they are pretty muddy. OK for 1 time but it wouldn't be my favorite beach. The beach bar offer some sunbeds but at full season it's very very crowded.

Konstantinos B — Google review

Amazing beach, beautiful as you can see in pics. Should be plastic free, but they provide every drink with straw and lid in plastic cup. Food is really average, dont recommend it. But nice friendly staff. Overall i really liked the beach, but could be improved.

Efren N — Google review

The bay is good and natural. You can reach from the center to Neoris by boat and walk to this bay for about 5 minutes. But the sea is not the best. It gets blurry because of the sand after a while.

F. B — Google review

I was a bit disappointed. The beach is a bit dirty and there aren't as many trees as you see in the pictures

R S — Google review

Beautiful setting, clean waters and good prices. The only thing I would criticize is 15€ charge for the set of loungers. A little steep but if you are going to stay for a few hours, it is fine.Definitely recommend

Penya — Google review

It was my long walk on New Year's day, came all the way from the port that's downtown Poros & it was absolutely stunning! No wonder it's crowded in the summer, there were others enjoing a little picnic on the same day, such a quiet lovely place with crystal clear waters, looking forward to visiting again in the summer!

Dimitra K — Google review

It's a lovely place. The water is perfectly clear and while snorkelling you can observe many different fishes. There's a lot of natural shade from the trees - it's definitely the most beautiful beach on Poros. Shower, changing room, clean toilets: Best facilities we've had at a beach. But it's crowded: We were there in June and had to be there early (before 11am) to get the last free set of sunbeds - price was 12€ per set which is normal on Poros. There's not much space to sit without one, so in the end you will probably have to pay to use this beach. Service staff is friendly, although we didn't eat or drink something.

Diana — Google review

One of the most idyllic beaches in Poros. You can get coffee and sunbeds and enjoy the view. Unfortunately on the day we visited the waves had brought some sort of industrial foam probably from the many yachts that roam on the waters. The sea did still look clean but we did not risk going in. It could have been a single event who knows but the locals told us that the sea is not that clean there due to its geographical location and the yacht season. Still a must see though.

Zeynep E — Google review

A very good beach, if you're into beach bars that is. It's surrounded by beautiful nature and has plenty of shade even at noon. However the sunbeds occupy most of the space and there is little space for those who wish to sit on their own.

Eleni P — Google review

❤ The best little beach on Poros ❤A short hop and jump from Poros town ( 3.3 km ) you'll find Love Bay. It's a small and very cosy beach that will help you unwind and calm down from the every day hustle and bustle. Here you will find a few hundered sunbeds with umbrellas, a changing room, his and hers toilets and a fully stocked bar serving sandwiches, soft drinks, ice creams, beers and drinks . And did I mention the very friendly staff 👍👍👍The bay itself deserves 5 stars. The water is bright green and blue and really fresh. And they play soothing music from the loudspeakers to help you relax🎶Whats not to love about this place❤❤❤

Svein J — Google review

A very nice and cozy small beach with nice waters. A small canteen offers coffee etc and there is plenty of shadow from the trees. One of the best beaches of the island.
